After hearing for the umpteenth time the ungodly power of a les paul through a marshall, i'm thinking that i should look into getting one =0

Heard and seen some QC issues with gibsons, open to suggestions, thinking of putting suhr aldrich pickups in there as well

looked at

Tokai
FGN

among others, even some of the epiphones look decent enough

any suggestions? or is my best bet trying to find an older killer gibson les paul?

thanks =0

Burny

ah thx, seen burny mentioned somewhere else, i'll have a look into it

Why not one of those BFR Gibsons. A little upgrading, they are great.

Edwards (ESP) seems to get a lot of love. I know I would not mind having one of their Les Paul Custom clones.

I've got two Edwards and they absolutely kill !!!,for the price especially!!!

Are you going for LP looks or tone? If it's the tone you want try an old Hamer studio, you should be able to find a great player for under a grand no problem.

both i'd say , i have a ibanez artist 300 from '81 that kinda cops the tones, but i'm looking for a more rock n roll les paul, with passives

In that case I'd say a used Heritage 140 or 150. You should still be able to get a good player for the amount you stated. All the looks and tone just the name on the headstock is different.

:lol: :LOL: Right here on RT :D

Well, I guess that means they're out there. If you ever want to sell it, hit me up :D

I dont know why anyone who wants a les paul would buy a copy for 1200 bucks when u can get a real deal les paul classic or standard used for the same price range basically and by purchasing used it allows u to escape the quality issues of the most recent gibsons. Its a buyers market so the deals are out there if u look around and are patient and smart with your money. I prefer pre 2003 for standard production usa non custom shop issue.

Some nice LP copies around but in my experience if its the LP/Marshall roar you're going for then nothing is going to do it like a real LP
