who makes a decent rack tuner ?? something good, doesnt have to be super fancy just be able to put my guitars in tune ...

i am not a huge pedal person, so would rather have something rackmounted to use.

I have a Korg not sure on the model I can get it for you. Single space and does a great job $100 shipped!

i take it you are selling one ?? lol ... if so pm me some pics and a model number if yah dont mind

If you want to keep the pricing under control, Korg's line of tuners are the industry standard for dedicated rack tuners. But if you want the Rolls-Royce of tuners, check out the Peterson VS-R:

Of course most multi-FX rack products have tuners built in, so there's less demand for stand-alone rack tuners.

yeah i am thinking of getting a multi FX rack setup too, but i would rather have a stand alone rack tuner. dont ask me why, i would like to have it all its own .... if i dont get the korg tuner from jeff, i am gonna look into one of these. it looks kool anyways :D

if you have the space for it, I don't blame you. there's nothing easier to read from a distance than the korg tuners.

I agree you can tune from a Korg DTR-2000 from 50 feet away. Peterson...not so much.

what about the korg DTR-1000 ... it seems like a decent tuner, but i dunno, anyone have any knowledge of it ?

EDIT:: just read the DTR1000 wont completely mute the sound when tuning in a live situation, will the DTR2000 ?? how truly important is it, to be completely muted ??

:D

I use a Korg DTR 1000 and don't have any problems with sound bleeding through the mute button.

Ive owned both the DTR-1000 and now own the DTR-2000 they BOTH mute perfectly and have had no issues with either one. The DTR-2000 just has a few more options..which i never use lol could of just stuck with the DTR-1000

I'm not sure who complained about sounding leaking while on mute, but I suspect it had nothing to do with the tuner. Most likely it had to do with the tuner being in a parallel FX loop, which passes dry signal alongside the effected one, or it could have been in the serial loop of an amp with a poorly-designed serial loop. There are many amps with serial loops that are not actually 100% serial, and a tuner is actually a useful device for testing if your serial loop is actually letting some dry signal pass through.
