Remember to bring your own guitar.

I like to play Lenny by SRV when trying a clean tone.

Then some big chords with some distortion to see what the separation is like. Something like this:

2
5
4
2
2
0

Also how it rings out.

I like to see how it plays lead in something like D Minor. If I can some nice overtones there we are all good.

D minor is the saddest of all the keys.

Are we playing a gig or demoing an amp here?

umm, open cords, power cords, single note runs, give man money, take said amp to gig and then play set list.

Yup, same for me Brad! Plug in, let rip, and if the hairs on the back of my neck are standing on end... then they get my cash in their hand

Hmmm...good idea, but I don't think I'll do that this time. I'm heading over to Fat Sound Guitars in Cary, NC. Me and "hthomas" are going to have a little in-store-amp-fest action!

Unchained by van halen is what I hear alot of! also bring your guitar as said above and more importantly, test it at high volume levels. U want to hear what it sounds like at gig volumes, also, test it at lower volumes to see if it going to be practical for use at home at night etc. Play as u would if no one was around, dont let the people bother u. I dont see how stores like g.c. expect us to spend big bucks on an amp without cranking it up a bit and testing it. They are like the volume police in some locations. They should be able to tell the differance between the 14 yr olds testing out shit with no intention to buy and a serious buyer by now

Yep! I tried out the Mesa Mark V last Saturday, it was awesome. I just turned it right up and did my thing
