So quick backstory. About a year ago, finally got a "super nice" Martin, a 00-28. Played great and loved it but missing some low end and not as big of a sound. Also was a fingerpick more than strum guitar.

A few weeks ago, I started looking into a D-28 due to the history and reviews. I stumbled on a video of the Billy Strings version and dug in, wanting to understand what makes it different than a regular one. The scale is slightly shorter and the nut is not as wide. Makes an unbelievable difference.

This guitar is so easy to play and probably the most comfortable and easiest acoustic i've ever played. Fun to strum, fun to pick, etc and sounds so good. I was playing "Stairway", "Dust in the Wind", etc and just one of those guitars you don't want to put down.

I am not a Billy Strings fanatic or anything but like what i've heard from him and this guitar is a great collaboration between him and Martin. Really impressed and if you are looking for a Martin or other brand acoustic, definitely give this a whirl. I was going to get the cheaper one originally and decided to get to nice one. I sold three guitars and added cadh and so worth it.

After Taylor drank their milkshake for awhile Martin has been producing some the best guitars that they ever have. The consistency is remarkable. When I was buying my D28 the shop had 4 and I had a damn time picking one. The dealer had a lot of custom order stuff and would fly back every year to pick out woods and specs. Killer guitars! If I was worthy I’d be throwing money at an authentic.

Nice choice and HNGD! Play the heck out of it, it’s only gonna get better!

I think i've only played one Taylor in my life and have never had anything against them, I just always wanted a Martin, especially knowing they are made in Pennsylvania. I got my first one a few years ago (GPC) and is nice but once you get to that next level with the rosewood, etc, just sounds amazing. I have a Martin Johnny Cash Dreadnaught I got for like $500 and that is fun to play as well and HPL for taking to gigs, lol.

Those are really nice. My brother and I took a day trip up to Nashville a few months ago & played a ton of acoustics at some shops with some real high end pieces.

Gruhns had a few of those Billy Strings d28’s in stock, and they really stood out among the newer / more attainable Martins I picked up.
