You have 30 days at GC to return the amp and get a full refund. Thats the beauty of GC.

He's correct.

<---- GC Employee. Return it for a full refund within thirty days if you don't dig it.

Hit the red channel with a ZW-44 or OCD with the gain on the Marshall at 3/4 and the pedal with the volume up and gain 1/3rd.

If you can't get good tone outta that you're doing it wrong.

Another note, the DSL is Vietnamese built and I have had one die on me already. Now keep in mind, GC is an absolute torture test at times for gear. The JVM 410 has been on demo for at least four months and still rips. Take that for what you may. Figured you might could use that this bit of insider info.

Sorry man not pissin in your amp at all! If you like it rock it! It prolly loves a boost too...
I was just relating my experiences with these amps, and long time with the og version...

I like the amp i'm just thinking long term/switching and control options
But i'm actually digging the red channel with the gain on about 3 lol - 1/4, and the green crunch with gain on about 3/4 of the way up. Presence almost all the way off (on 1 lol). If i used a boost at all it'd only be on green crunch for just a little bit extra drive.

Interesting

Now that I'm actually on my computer instead of the phone, I can clarify. The DSL100H sounds great. I'm actually a big fan of them through a set of V30s. It's got great grind and thickness, while retaining that trademark Marshall cut. My complaint is that (the DSL100H that died) the amp worked wonderfully and sounded amazing for the week we had it out on the floor. It was never outrageously cranked or blatantly mistreated. I came in to work one day, made it to lunch time and was ready for my post fast-food wankery session and it was DOA. Maybe I'm just a magnet for shitty Oriental amps, but I've burnt down a Blackstar combo amp by just looking at it in a Sam Ash before. Regardless, I'm still waiting for another to come in and hopefully some information as to why that DSL died on us.

Wow that's weird. I've had mine on 4 or 5 times since yesterday...no issues yet lol
Maybe some kid took the speaker cable out of it and left it on

I tried the 100h at length but could not get along with lead 2. The rest was great.

Well damn no store around here has a jvm205 in stock.
One does have a used 5150 3 though....100 watt....

This seems to be DSL100 vs JVM205 vs 5150 III.

For my money, I'd take the DSL100.

The JVM205 is great, but the JVM410H spoiled me. If you're going JVM, go for the full-on mac daddy JVM410H. Anything else is just, well, not as good. The DSL100 is just too good an amp to trade off for the 205 in my opinion. You may of course think completely differently! But if you're going to return it for anything, unless it's astronomically terribly out of budget, go get a 410h.

The 5150III... well, I loved the 5150 and the 5150 II... I still run a 6505+ as my daily driver. But I just couldn't get anything good out of the 5150 III... I really tried and, whatever's wrong with me, it seems the nerve that controls getting a good tone out of a 5150 III is completely severed in my head.

Yeah i've been thinking that about the 410h also, but honestly i really don't think i need 4 channels ya know? I'd be happy i think with 2 channels/3 modes per channel all footswitchable. I also really don't need 100 watts lol

Return it, look at GC's website and have them ship a used JVM205 for $999 to your store. If you wanted the 410, they have one used in the system for 1299.

Why buy new and take the hit?

Sounds like a plan lol. I like this DSL, i just want the switching options ya know? I don't gig regularly but do occasionally. Don't wanna start flipping amps lol

I use probably about 3-4 modes of the JVM410h in reality. But two of the channels I am really fond of just aren't on the 2xx.

Let me put it another way. I currently have a 6505+, TSL100 and a JVM410H. You'd have a very hard time prying any of those out of my hands! They all do stuff the other can't do! The 2xx and 5150 III spent a very short amount of time in my arsenal before I moved them on.

Check out that used JVM410H... $1299 sounds quite bargainous!

I bought mine new, but I'm a ponce!

I have an older, British DSL and it growls w/ an MXR Badass OD in front of it

FWIW, I've recently had a Vietnamese DSL100 pass through my paws for a re-valve. I could find no discernible difference between it and the older UK ones. I'm sure they'll have all the same reliability problems as the UKs did :P
