YES!!!! I can not tell you how stoked I am. I have been wanting to redo my studio area for over the last 2 years. I had been using my office desk and some busted ass stands to get everything accomplished. Fretless was dope enough to hook me up with that Argosy 10-space rolling rack which was a huge help.
Anyway, I have been lusting after this particular desk for over a year and a half but, as the wife and I are each on a weekly allowance that I keep blowing on guitar builds and random gear, I have made no progress in getting the damn desk funded. So, a year ago we built the new house and I once again got a dedicated room for recording. It ain't half bad, and I really shouldn't complain BUT I still have found myself wanting to take it up a notch. Especially since this is where all the vids for Dunky's are filmed.
I was off on Friday and me and the wife were doing some light house cleaning and she was like, 'how much of a mess is your studio...?" I was like "you mean from a filth factor?" Apparently that's what se meant. She goes upstairs, opens the door and was like, "JER!!! Are you serious with this mess??? How do we fix this?"
She was then like, "pull up images home studio images the size of this room". So I did. She then sends me to get paper and pencil and she starts going to it. Apparently I need wall hangers, track lighting, foam to make my closet a vocal room because "That thing (she says pointing to my mic) needs to be in the closet, right? And then what about those ugly sound things for the walls?" (She meant room treatment).
Anyway, I know, "yay me, who gives a shit" but I am super excited to get this all built. We are going tomorrow night to look at track lighting (and pendant lighting for the kitchen...). We will start building the desk this weekend.
My Raven MTi2 will be here tomorrow so HOPEFULLY Monday I will be up and running. The desk is an Argosy Halo Ultimate.
