I don't think paypal will EVER ask you to log in on an email. If you logged in to that email, you could have just given your password out to somebody,I would go to the verified site and log in and check your account summary.

I just cancelled my paypal account. I check my bank balance and nothing is missing. Do I need to block my card that is on file now?

If you canceled your account, then I would think nobody could use it,even yourself .

It usually takes a day or 2 for a transaction to show up on my bank account. I would have checked the account summary first. A transaction shows up pretty quick on that. I would be contacting Paypal ti find out the deal for sure.

ALWAYS log into PayPal from PayPal.com. ALWAYSALWAYSALWAYSALWAYS.

If you get an e-mail saying otherwise, it's 100% guaranteed a scam.

All you probably had to do was change your password since you probably gave it away. Cancelling it was probably a good call though just in case  My dad just got a scam e-mail the other day too claiming it was from PayPal and they needed him "verify his information". They asked for credit card #s, SS# and all kinds of shit, he didn't give it to em though, he just deleted it.

Love that last line...'log in so I can use your account'

Nothing good has ever come from anything related to Dell. It was probably one of their customer service reps in India trying to scam you. Must have got bored leaving people on hold for two hours at a time and then not being able to speak good enough English to help you solve whatever problem you might be having with your high quality piece of Dell computing machinery. :gethim:

Fixed for internetting 101 class.

My Uncle got scammed for $800 the same way.
If you look up the item # on ebay........it dont even exist.
They just want to lure you into LOGGING IN by sending a panic email that something was charged to your account.
Cancelling your paypal account is the best thing you could of done since when you logged in thru their "Paypal link"
they got all your info.

Sounds like almost any CSR from any company nowadays. Fucking Dell... I would set that company on fire and go "Office Space" on it if I could. I fucking hate those cunt-rag cum stains. Yes, I have a very passionate hate for Dell. :codeak:

About a year ago, some chick from Finland hacked my Paypal account and stole some money from my bank account. After I caught it, I found out her name. Looked her up on Facebook. Dumb bitch. My bank refunded the money she stole. Then, 4 months later, Paypal refunded me the same amount. I win.
