Got my Bias email

App is fantastic! Really enjoying it and how easy it is to get a great tone. Couple it up with a different cab app such as the Two-Notes WOS-III and see what happens! Sounds even better.

You can also bypass the cabs and use a cabsim with your own IRs. I bought the ownhammer pro pack a while back. I would have liked to see more cab options in BIAS. But yes, dialing in smokin tones is easy

Has anyone tried recording with BIAS desktop yet? Does it take up a lot of ram when you start getting into quad tracking?

I agree about jamup...really hoping they add it in an update. i like all in one stuff...my daw's effects suck

If you are looking for a solid tube screamer or 808 VST the TSE808 freeware vst is awesome. Also if you can pirate the CLA guitar vst it's good too. Lots of solid vsts around.

heres a screenshot as i was recording with bias.
4 trax open with bias open in each track.plus ez drummer open.

Wanted to try that as I love WoSIII, the cab/mic module in Bias is pretty weak.
I was able to bypass the cab but not the microphone in Bias DT. How can I do that?

EDIT: Questions about "Tone Matching"

I tried it once with my Blackface Princeton.

I got no manual and was pretty confused.

AFAIK you need to start with a model that pretty much already sounds like the amp to match.

After the Source and Target things you see a screen with two graphs.
Is this basically an EQ matching?

I did not see any turned/changed dials and was not able to save my matched tone.

Total confusion

My laptop has more than enough ram and speed to run a ton of VSTs at one time but yet the second I try and record with BIAS desktop my DAW and computer take a giant shit. Seems odd since I can normally record 6 tracks of guitar with 3-4 VSTs on each track, bass with 2-3 VSTs, 2-3 vocals tracks with 2-3 VSTs plus superior drummer and ozone izotope with ZERO lag or issues but then last night I tried recording with only an imported MP3 and BIAS running and it would crash out.

Anyone have any ideas?

I think when you bypass the cab, the mic is also bypassed, no? I would assume that because you aren't listening to the cab anymore.

There is some confusion for sure. They need to put out a manual for the Tone matching piece. I get the idea behind it but I can't get any isolated tracks to work when it comes time to sample. Probably something I am doing wrong but eventually, I'll figure it out. Kind of wish Fluff had shown that in his will it match videos but he like goes faster than a F-17 when he gets to that point. Again though, his isn't a tutorial video and just an example.

Still, lots of fun to play with!

No, you can move it around and it changes the sound :(

I briefly played with WOS3 today. I bypassed cab. And turned volume down on mic just to make sure.
Seems i had 2 "tracks" of WOS3. Seemed distorted.i was able to click and "turn off" one side. But with just 2 cabs, i didnt notice much difference. And definitely not enough to make a judgement on. So, now im at work til wednesday.no Bias for me til then. Im gonna buy some more cabs in WOS3 over the weekend and take it from there.

Timeroo, i have no idead why u keep crashing if u say u have enuff ram. Wish i could help.

Not a big deal, I bought an iPad 4 and an interface, I am just going to run my iPad interface into my recording interface and do it that way. Going to hope PG gives me a refund though as I would hate to be out $200 for something I can't use outside of noodling

It was officially released today, together with some videos.

In this video at 56s there is a "save to cloud" button that I don't have in my current version (1.07).
I also still don't know how I can save a "tone match" setting.

EDIT: Just watched this long video

Amp matching starts at 16:15
Is this basically an EQ curve that is generated? No Amp or Mic settings change, just the EQ modul and then you save this new rig?

A manual would be REALLY nice to have for this.

I'm hoping they change that. I hadn't noticed it. Usually when you bypass a cab, it's just the raw signal of the amp model there. Strange.
