Got the Marsha. Awesome amp as promised and a is exactly what I was after...a vintage Marshall with a little more gain on tap and a lot of liquid feel to it.

Been playing through a collection of cab/speaker combinations to see what best suits me and have settled for now on a Mesa Recto cab with 2xV30's and 2xCL80's in an X. Thought the Scumbacks would be the ones, but not. Sounds pretty good on this 74 Marshall with Greenies, but the V30/CL80 set seems to give it the best of both grind and rip.

I has my Marsha set up with nothing to foul up the audio path. Just a BE and HBE inputs and a line out and all else stock. No switching, no post EQ, no fat/sat to fiddle with. Just pure tone. Find the HBE with gain at about noon, Mids around 10:00 and everything else around 3-4:00 to be an awesome setting. Will be gigging Friday night. Marsha will come with me.

Now, if my wife will quit asking me who the fuck Marsha is, it'll be alright!

I am really stoked about this amp. Simple, one-trick set up, big bottom, searing lead tone and a'lot of cut. Quick iphone photo here.

Awesome job Dave!!!!

Congrats Steve. Is it very different from the Wizard?

Right on!! If ya ever decide to add options,
I highly recommend the JBE with Depth switch
Gives the Marsha serious punch and in your face gargantuan
tone.
Another great mix with the Marsha is H30XV30 4X12

Congrats Steve! I'd really like to hear your take on where this amp fits in with your others. I know it's not geared toward high gain metal like some of your others, but I'd like to know how it stacks up to the marks and your fortin. Thanks!

Well, I have been off the heavy metal lately. Been sticking more with driven Marshall tones. It fits real well as it is a hot rodded Marshall, but oozes sustain, feedback on demand, and is real fluid. I haven't gotten to get it much past a really loud house volume yet. But, will come Friday. Its going to be an all around work horse, something like a Mark III is to Mesa. Sort of one or two tricks, no switching, no nothing - just tone for days.

It is nothing like the Bones in voicing, or gain. I got the extra gain boost on the Bones. The Marsha has loads of bottom end on it that is tight and controlled. Where I find find the bottom on the Bones more loose. It is not as tight as the Wizard, thankfully. The Wizard is tighter than tree bark from bottom to top. Top end and lead tones on the Marsha are very liquid.

I played for about 4 hours last night and couldn't turn it off.

I got some H30's laying around somewhere. May give it a go, but I think I am stuck on the V30's and CL80's. I wish I had my old Uberkab. 30's and 75's would probably sound great.

Sounds really cool! I've been trying to decide on what amp to buy...talked to Jay, talked to Rob @ TM. I'm between Marsha, Naked, XTC 101B, Mark IV or possibly Diezel Einstein as a distant 5th choice...

Every time someone describes the Marsha to me I get all hot for it again, but then I think that it won't be chunky or modern enough for the harder stuff I do. Then I lean towards the Naked for the super huge and heavier voicing, and I worry that it won't be able to do the more lead-oriented vintage stuff I do.
I love the XTC, but the Red ch has it's flaws, and same with the Mark IV; lead channel rips, but crunch is just good, not great.
I need a great clean channel too. I should fly to CA this summer and go to TM so I can try a bunch of amps.

You should come to try them all. Also a/b speaker cabs etc. I mean if you are paying 3000 to 3500 for a amp then whats a plane ticket. We will have our new store done and have amps set up in amp switchers so you can a/b instantly . We will also have 3 identical cabs with 3 different sets of speakers.

Yeah, probably the best thing I could do. I'll try to come out this summer. I'm making myself sick thinking about what one to get and gassing over them. It's pretty ridiculous being physically sick and not sleeping over music gear. I think I have a problem... :aww:

You keep loving the gear cause it beats alot of other things guys can get into. P.S. :) ...Try to keep from over spending though.
