I did. Sent it back. Loved the whole all in one idea. I couldn't jive with the sound. The gain had a sterile graininess to me.

Yea I had one too and the tone was weird. Too much going on inside of it to sound good.

I had one and returned it, didn't sound good to my ears, and even worse using the recording out. Great idea though for a head

Interesting. All of the stuff I heard had me thinking this would be a hit.

Yeah I thought the same, in theory it's a great idea, all the features are fantastic but the tone that the features run off of doesn't meet expectations

What? it has blue lights. blue lights make everything better

I changed the tubes in mine and it made a HUGE difference but I already had my sights on something else so I didn't give it a chance after changing them.

I have one, and I gig steady with it in a few different bands.

I think it sounds great, and always get compliments on my tone. I put all JJ tubes in mine, and they definitely sound better. I don't find the sound sterile at all. I think of the H&K stuff as a blank palette, and it's up to you to make the sounds. I think the amp screams. It sounds better than my 6505, and Triple Recto to my ears. The delay and reverb are good. The mod effects are just ok at best. They work in a pinch, but I use a G Major in the loop.

It's an absolutely fantastic package that has great tones, great options, and portability. YMMV.

I own a GM36 and run it into a Bogner 4x12 with V30's.It is a blank canvas as a previous person wrote. It's extremely versatile and will get you where you want to go for pretty much any sound without any pedals.

I use a Gibson Les Paul through a Shure GLXD-16 wireless into a Dunlop Slash Classic wah. It's a great amp for a covers band that plays a wide variety of genres.

My other amp is a Budda SD45 which has a lot more character and is 'my' sound. But I've been running the GM36 for the last few weeks to give it a fair chance.

I'm more than happy with it.
