Greenback (G12M-25) vs Heritage G12M

Besides the efficiency (98db for G12M and 96db for Heritage) and handling (25 watt vs 20 watt for Heritage).........what are the tonal differences ?

I plan on picking up another 2x12 soon and I'm wondering if the Heritage is worth almost double the price

In my opinion 1 of each would be the way to go.

The Heritage are darker and smoother sounding(nice); while the English made G12M is rather bright and airy on top(not harsh -but nice) I would X pattern thses in a 4x12 or 1 of each in a 2x12 and you'll be good to go!!

When I compared a new EVH cab loaded with the Heritage and my Marshal 1960bx (English Classic G12M's) I thought the EVH was too dark and focused but with good bottom "thump" and my cab was bright and airy; but in a good articulate way.

The best cab is a mix of thses 2 cabs together IMO. Hence my findings, being what they are.

BTW The Heritage are actually 25W as well. They just re-issued it with the same incorrect power rating as before. Wierd but true.

Yeah I had the EVH cab on loan from my local store for about 2 weeks. Poked my nose into the cab to see if there was anything going on inside that was different from my Marshall cab; construction wise and such. Nothing different at all. Must be the speakers.
