Does Friedman not make any 4x12 cabinets that have ALL Greenback speakers? All I am seeing are ones with Greenbacks on top and Vintage 30s on the bottom.

Do most people here actually think a mix of vintage 30 and greenbacks sound better than having all 4 be Greenbacks?

In video clips it sounds to me like Greenbacks have a much more muscular sound.... and it seems like Vintage 30s sound muffled like a blanket over the amp in comparison on many of the videos I've seen.

I read on here that Friedman is releasing a new Greenback 50 watt version? Any new information on that? Someone on here said there's a video of Greg Koch using those from a year or two ago, can someone post a link to that? I have not been able to find it but would like to hear what the new Greenbacks sound like.

Also, how much better or worse would using a Marshall 412 cabinet that comes stock with 4 Greenbacks be compared to using a Friedman cabinet, are Friedman cabs really tuned in to match the head?

I just bought a Friedman 4x12 vintage with an extra pair of greenbacks with the full intention of swapping out the V30's to make it all greenbacks. I really wanted the all greenbacks to work but the ears don't lie, went back to stock. The greenback/V30 combo really sounds great to me. I'm a big fan of greenbacks but something about this combo just works.................

Thanks for letting me know about your experience... I've never heard one in real life. All the demo I've heard on youtube with the regular 2 v30 & 2 gb sound great.... but i got curious, and listened to many demos of v30s by themselves, and then greenbacks by themselves, and i was like wow those greenbacks sound amazing, but the v30s by them selves sound like they are lacking something.

So you are probably right since you actually own it and tried it both ways and actually thought you'd like 4 GB too but then didn't...

Perhaps, it's like recces cups.... I love chocolate, and I don't go out of my way to just eat peanut butter by itself, but when combined, sometimes I like the reeces cup combo better than just standalone chocolate... so yeah i guess the sum of two different things could create something thats better than one of the parts alone.

david your speakers would be more of your take of 70s Black Back's wouls they would be available as M an H speakers in 25 watt or all of them will only be available in highier watt rating?

The GB/v30 combination is tits. It sounds better that either one alone. I've experimented extensively.
