Love those big boy gretsch’s. Gotta share a very non sexy one. This was my grandfathers. I think it’s an early 60’s. I was able to establish myself as the “caretaker” of it about a decade after he passed so that it wasn’t sitting under a bed with the rest of his instruments. She’s got some real patina on her from years of living near a swamp cooler. Funny enough he quit playing it after taking it to a guitar shop to get work done. Said “it never sounded right after that guy screwed it up”. To my surprise the old wiring is still in the case and the tech put a 250k pot in there - and thus the case was solved. I plan on putting some new wiring in there soon but it’s a real rocker. Super light! Nice semi-beefy neck too.
