griff10672 - CE Mod + Buffer Line Driver.

I have these two pedals for a bit and I have to say that the CE-MOD pedal is an amazing chorus pedal!!! Definitely beats my older CE-2 MIJ and my CE-2 Waza Craft. The CE-MOD pedal was having a clicking noise through my Monomyth Skeleton Key REV2C. Wayne told me that is normal and to a try a BOSS pedal, which is buffered, in front of the pedal. That didn’t work so he told me to put it after and it worked. He also built a buffer pedal for me and gave me a great deal on the price!!!! Now that is customer service!!!! If you are looking for a great chorus pedal then there is no need to look any further!!!

I wouldn't say it's normal ..... it just happens with certain setups / amps .... and some it doesn't .... if the signal isn't strong enough to the amp ... the clock gets picked up and amplified ... it's just one of those weird things .... like when pedals pop when turning them on ... same pedal will pop in one setup and not in another ...
usually a buffer will solve these issues ..

I love the CE-MOD. I have it on my bass board with the bass and deep switches engaged and it's been my favorite bass chorus. I also have it on my spare guitar board, and it kicked by Earthquaker Devices Sea Machine out completely. I use to have two Sea Machines, and I might get down to zero before the end of the year as my last one sits on the chopping block.

As for the buffer, I never noticed any problems because I have dedicated buffers on everything. That's another point for the CE-MOD over the Boss is that I can run all true bypass pedals and have a dedicated buffer where I need it instead of stacking buffered pedals. Surprisingly enough though, Wayne hasn't built me a buffer yet.

Just ordered one a few days ago. You guys using out front or in loop?

I have a CE-2W and it has tone suck in front and too overbearing in loop with no mix control.

I go in the loop on guitar, and out front on bass. On guitar the amp does the lifting, so it's in the loop. On bass, I run the dirt up front, so I have the amp set clean and the chorus after the drive.

I'd rather have the circuit true bypass myself .... because I run a amp switcher .... there's so much cable ... I have to run incoming and out going buffers

I'll hook you up Bezo ..... that one pictured is the infamous Cornish Buffer with a on/off footswitch ..... I also have some Seymour Duncan Pick up Booster's coming ... which are line drivers also .... basically a super clean boost up to 25 dB ... with a resonant peak toggle switch

The CE Mod sounds amazing. My amp also does the click thing but Wayne hooked me up with a killer buffer. GA makes some amazing pedals!

a compressor(s) in front and some verb/delay in the backside of this little ensemble is working sweetly.
it sounds like a ce-2 with a little more girth and range. i like the guitar/bass switch up which seems to have more top end, and the depth stock/mod switch down which seems to add more low frequencies.

for sure the pedal - me not so much!
i’ve been so busy with work and family birthday events and our annual October spooky trolley tours we hosted this past weekend, while being sick off and on this past month that i’m a complete wreck playing wise! my week:

what’s interesting about the pedal is that it sounds nice in person for sure but the changes i make during this clip come across even better in the recorded sounds. it can be seasick wobbly, more throaty, or more tc-ish clean depending on the settings.

i think with the deep mod switch off it comes closer to the subtle politeness of some of the original ce-2s i’ve owned. but i like the mod switch on and the lows it adds, especially for this tele/princeton rig.

i tried the keeley dyno my roto, then the red seven lil wave, but your pedal sounded better in this context. really shines with a compressor in front of it.
