Griffin Analog + cranked DR103 kemper profile = Page/Zep tones

So I was jamming on the profiles I made of my mojotone DR103 kit cranked - combined with @griff10672 excellent lightspeed circuit on my Hunky Dore pedal, I was feeling very Page-y

So I did my best to get some LZ style guitar riffs going (the drums, alas, are completely out of reach for me)

Man, there's nothing like that DR103 + EV12L combo, but it gets even better with a great boost. If you haven't tried a Lightspeed style circuit as a boost with one, you have to try it. Just instant live page tone IMO. Obviously I don't have his hands, but I thought it sounded really good, even for a tone that isn't my specialty.

Very cool, reminds me late 70s/early 80s Whitesnake. Lead tone has lots of clarity and definition.

I can definitely hear that too

Part of that is that is in the hands for sure, but a lot of it is the hiwatt preamp and light speed both having ridiculous clarity with gain

The greer light speed. It's similar to a paul Cochrane Timmy but more optimized for gain tones and marshalls as opposed to tan pants low gain tones with fenders.

I'm sure @griff10672 could explain it better than I, im not an expert at anything except rockin out.

It's an excellent circuit for mid gain type stuff, but also works for high gain applications.

There's one track of just hiwatt, one track of hiwatt plus lightspeed, and the leads are all hiwatt plus lightspeed just FYI

It's a really, really clear and transparent overdrive circuit that works amazingly well with hiwatts as well as Marshalls and similar

It's not a public profile (it's one I made of my old amp) but there are a ton of publicly available hiwatt profiles that sound just as good

The first that comes to mind is the And44 hiwatt clean, crunch, and cranked profiles, which are just as good or better sounding than mine

The key is play hard, and use a transparent boost like a timmy, klon, or lightspeed set with gain mid, volume high, and tone to taste based on the speakers and humbuckers you're using

Bit sort of flubby-sounding for me tbh, doesn't have that "bite" that I like, especially for those sort of riffs.
