I absolutely love this plugin. It’s well thought out, and has quite a few unique features. It’s essentially two channels, with a knob that allows you to mix how much you want from each channel. The left side is your stereotypical modern high gain tone, while the right is hm2 inspired. A neat feature of it, is that it allows you to run an amp, another amp sim etc into the sidechain of it. When you do this, the “modern high gain” channel of the plugin is bypassed, and allows you to use whatever amp or amp sim you have in the sidechain, in place of that channel. The possibilities are endless with this thing. I didn’t have much time but I thought I’d make a quick clip of my 6534 in the side chAin of the plug, with the mix about 45 percent, favoriting the 6534 slightly. The caveat to this is, everything you run into the grindstein plugin goes through its IR section, so I can’t really figure out how to run my real amp and cab into it, because then it would be “double mic’d”. So, I just recorded my amp with a loadbox, no cab involved, and sent that signal to the grindstein and used its IR section. You could of course bypass the grindsteins IR section all together, and use your own IR loader as well. I’ll probably try that next, but I knew the IR’s in the grindstein pedal would work for this plugin obviously.
