hey everyone,
So I finally got me a Voodoo Labs Ground Control Pro and a Voodoo Labs Midi switcher to be able to switch channels on my Splawn Nitro and G-mjaor 2.

I was wondering if there's anyone in the Toronto area or surrounding areas that would be able to provide some assistance in programming this with me ?

Let me know please.

Thank you

The Voodoo Lab stuff is pretty straightforward to program. I assume you're using the Voodoo Lab Control Switcher. Here's the manual section on programming:

"USE WITH GROUND CONTROL PRO
Using the Voodoo Lab Ground Control Pro, you will access Control Switcher as if
it were four loops of a GCX Guitar Audio Switcher. Ground Control Pro assigns
loops in the order the devices are chained. For example, a Control Switcher
connected directly to Ground Control Pro’s MIDI OUT will be GCX#1 loops 1-4. A
2nd Control Switcher would then be GCX#2 loops 1-4. Alternately, if MIDI is
routed to a GCX first and then Control Switcher, the GCX is #1 and Control
Switcher becomes GCX#2.
You will setup Ground Control Pro as if you have a GCX. Here’s how:
1.) Press both SETUP buttons to enter setup mode.
2.) Press EXPANDERS.
3.) Press YES/+ to turn on GCX-1. You have enabled GCX#1 loops 1-8. To
enable more GCX loops, press BANK  then YES/+ to turn on GCX-2. You can
enable up to four GCX modules.
4.) Press either SETUP button to see “EXIT Y/N” then press YES/+ to exit setup
mode.

Refer to the Ground Control Pro user’s manual for a detailed description of how
to assign instant access buttons to individual loops and create preset
combinations of loop settings."

Thank you Snave. I am definitely gonna give programming the GCP with the Voodoo Control switcher. I feel pretty confident I can get that going on my own..

My ask for the assistance is for more complex things, like triggering "stomp box" like settings on the GCP to call up certain effects on the G-Major 2 without having to switch patches. For example, I'd want to program the bottoms on the bottom row of the GCP labeled 1,2,3,4 to switch channels on my Nitro (Clean/OD1/OD2/SOLO). but with that, I want to for example be able to call up a delay in a stomp box type configuration on the SOLO boost but not keep it on All the time.

Certain effects Like Phaser, flanger, etc.. I dont use Full time, so having them configured in a stomp box like configuration would be great.

Thanks

You'd need to assign a CC# to a specific button on the GCP, and then have that same CC# set up in the G Major to on/off the effect.
On the G Major, you'd get into the MOD menu, and scroll down to Delay On/Off... then scroll to the right and make the number become say #70 to on/off that effect. Then whatever button you want to use on the GCP would need to be assigned to CC #70 as well.
Now, when you save the preset... make sure you have your delay settings in there, but don't have the preset set up to have the Delay on when you access it. The button you assigned on the GCP would turn that effect on and off for you.

It's much easier to set these things up than it may seem...

Thanks toddmogle. I am sure once I actually figure it out one time, the rest will be easy.

So for CC commands, if I want to call a phaser or tremelo on any patch, do I have to have that effect configured in each patch but just not enabled ?

For example, for each of my main sound Patches being clean, OD, OD2 and solo, I need phaser programmed and not enabled but configured to a CC. Correct ? And it has to be the same CC number for that effect on each patch. Correct ?

ok perfect. so its a matter of now learning how to configure the CC setup on both the GCP and GM2.

I recall seeing the CC setup in the Mod button section.

Time to experiment :-)
