Ground Zero Add-a-Stage installation video and demo clips

Not technical so most of that was over my head, but I will say it was easy to follow and understand what you were doing for what I did watch.

And also this is FUCKING AMAZING!

Never seen anything like this before. Mad props.

Marking to watch later. I have this retarded idea of converting a Ceriatone JTM 45/100 into a 100 watt Dirty Shirley then adding this on top of it.

Thanks man.

I tried to explain it in and much detail as possible and make it easy to understand. Ended up being a long video in the end.

Very cool!

BTW, there's a PCB out there for that Recom supply. Mounts nice and clean. I just wish Recom offered one with 1.8A output. The next jump up is 2A and it's much larger.

It sounds great and that's all that matters. And I learned some cool stuff along the way. Great concept too. But for those with skills and desire, this video would be very valuable.

Great video! I wonder if the amp takes a boost differently when you put the extra stage in front or in between? I still like to crank my extra-stage-in-front 2204 thru a load box/effects. But I have to turn the Master down to 6-7 with Gain on 6-7 or it's out of control. Pretty gainy and wild but still not 5150 gain.

The Headfirst one? Biggest issue with that is a single board is $40 shipped ($15 per board and $25 flat rate shipping), and then you gotta add the RAC20-12SK which is another $22 shipped from Mouser. The one in the video (EPS-65-12), while a bit bulkier, costs $25 shipped from Digikey or Mouser.

If you know any other PCBs to mount the Recom besides the Headfirst one, let me know because I haven't bothered with it due to the awful mounting solutions available - either price wise or janky mounting solution wise.

I suppose you could just use a breadboard too. Saving $40 on a single amp build doesn't seem like a make-or-break situation to me though...

You know what, I meant to throw an SD-1 in front but completely forgot and already took the amp apart. It’s getting a full Sniper+ mod for a customer. I bet it would it would rip, though.

I’ll see what I can figure out with this.

I'd be down for a small PCB board mount that accepts both the Recom RAC20-12SK and/or the next one up, that puts out more current. The RACM30-12SK/277. Same length. Just wider/taller. So it could be possible to fit both on the same PCB. The 20W/1.67A model is fine for supplying 3 preamp tubes. But I think more current is needed for four tubes + relays.
