Dan Hops was nice enough to send me a few more preamp modules to try. Here is a blind tone test. Let me know which you like. I was pressed for time so I didn't redo anything. All the mistakes were left in. Something else I should mention is that listening to this on my computer I didn't hear the difference between modules I heard in the room. I guess my little camcorder just isn't all that great at recording. I also used to much reverb again. I gotta tame that effect down. Used my Strat. No boost pedals were used. I can do more vids later of a module if anyone wants. I prolly won't use so much reverb next time either. So here is is... Modules are a Dave Friedman SLO and Black Eye, Pete aka Stratotone aka Gigmods Mesa Mk series, Recto and XTC module and a Voodoo Amps High Gain Jose. I also threw in my Marshall Vintage Modern for giggles.

I really like 2 and 3, very open sounding. They sound kinda similar, can't decide.

my favorite were #3 over all I did like #6 some too but #3 seemed to be the best in my opinion .

Dang, wish there was a way you could compare my SLO module with Dave's. I'm curious.

I don't think my camcorder is really showing the differences to well. I mean ya it's all set up to my ears and ya the power section is the same but in the room there are bigger differences than what I can tell on this video.

So here are the modules in order...
1. Friedman SLO
2. Pete's Mesa Mark
3. Friedmans Black Eye
4. Pete's XTC(not his latest version)
5. Pete's Recto
6. Voodoo Amps High Gain Jose
7. Marshall Vintage Modern(the real thing, not a module)
