So basically, I took a bunch of pictures. I took some of my acoustic because I'm preparing to sell it, I bought a new Diezel cab the other day, because it sounds better to me now than my Mesa cab, and, I took pics of the new band room in my new house, and I took some pics of my guitars after I finished cleaning and setting them up before this past week's shows. So without any further waiting, here they are. Enjoy!

The new Diezel cab and new band room. Extra points (virtual high five) to anyone who can spot what I did to the Diezel cab that makes it different from stock.

As to the Diezel cab, you took the wheels off

Everytime you post that Angelus HGS (which is a lot :D ) it gives me major GAS for one. :gethim: :D

Thanks man! But no....that actually isn't what I did, the wheels actually FELL THE FUCK OFF, while rolling it through the parking lot to set up for it's first gig. Not only did the wheel fall out, but the screws stripped so the entire caster braket fell out of the cab.......not one, but TWO of them did this the first night I had it. I hate to say it, but the build quality on this Diezel cab is not on the same level as the Mesa cabs. Diezel amps are built nukeproof, but I feel like the cabs are second priority or something, it was disappointing. If it were not for the sound of this cab, I would have stuck with my Mesa cab 100%, but the Diezel is much tighter and cuts more in the mix than the Mesa cab does. It's more up front, but still punches you in the chest, I dig it. It holds more clarity for my UL than the Mesa cab did and has more articulation. I did retrofit a set of Mesa casters, onto the Diezel cab, BUT, that's not what I'm referring to as for the change. The change I made is purely cosmetic and I think pretty easy to pick out if you know what you're looking for. Try again my friend. :)

Hey Ans, I have a (fully sealed) Roadking 4x12 and while I love that cab with some amps it wasn't the best for the UL. When I played the UL through a Splawn cab I noticed similar improvements you had with your Diezel cab :)

I'll guess again and say you changed the color of the piping around the grill :)

Ding ding ding! Virtual High FIVE!

Shiny, there is no piping around the grill because the cab is front loaded, and the grill comes off, but, good guess. I want to try some more Splawn cabs as well, the only one I've ever gotten to try was an older 2x12 that was DARK sounding, like way more dark than my Mesa cab, so I didn't snag it. I loved the way it looked though, and the build quality was top notch. I do think I prefer the front loaded sound though, because I love an immediate attack and sound from my sound, and the UL with a front loaded cab delivers, I just don't like VHT cabs and I really don't like VHT speakers, so the Diezel is kinda the best of both worlds. V30s in a front loaded cab. Yummy.

Nice gear. Looks bad ass. I see your getting your decorating tips from ZAO too. I love that Eclipse custom. Was that the one on ebay not long ago? Are you bringing that tomorrow? I was going to buy one but I ended up getting a new PRS SC250 instead.

BTW - I instantly noticed the black corners on the cab. ;) I had actually thought about doing that with mine as well as on the Herbert. I never got around to doing it though. I actually want a black grill-cloth too instead of the salt/pepper.

I think the build quality of my rear-loaded Diezel cab is good. It's bascially the same as my bogner cab.

Nah....not from Zao, I've been on my red wall trip for about 6 years now, but this is my first house, so I got to make all the decisions concerning colors, and badda bing. It's actually called "Barn Door". :)

That isn't an EC Custom either, it's a EC II Std. :)

So it is. doh!! I guess I didn't look close enough. I see the neck joint now. I just assumed it was because I remember there was one on ebay that you said you were considering buying.

Negative sir, I got this one brand new, straight from VHT, built in probably May/June of 07. Notice the black buttons. :)

It almost went to Ans. I sold it to Fredster on ebay who then traded it to someone in Indiana where I believe it currently resides. ;)

That one was built in Feb/Mar. 07. I can't remember if it had black buttons.

Can you compare the Diezel front loaded cab to the VHT cab in more detail ? Have you tried a VHT cab with other speakers ?

Ahh, oke doke. :) There's a little spot on the tolex next to one of the corners that reminded me of my old one.

My new cab just arrived too!!
I picked up an ENGL 4x12 Pro w/V30's!! Frontloaded FTW!!
Soooo stoked to hear it but I've gotta wait til Wednesday for band practice again. I'm impressed with how frakin' heavy the thing is! I'm piping music into it in an effort to break in the speakers before I take it to the practice space. I'm hoping I like mine as much as you seem to be liking yours!

Congrats on your new gear man!

EDIT: Where'd you get the black corners from ans??
