What are you guys using to hang your fiddles on the wall? There are so many brands...what is good?

I like the hercules ones. The lock in place when the guitar is in it.

Hercules - they lock the guitar in perfectly.

i have a couple of guitars that deserve to be hung by a noose.

i have used String Swing products for years, the Hercules stuff is great too.

 I am running these same hangers.
They are safe, they are neat, Heck.............
they even hold a person with a narrow neck if they need to.

I used to love the Hercules stuff until one of them just fell off the wall and did some heavy damage on the guitar that was hooked on it  .

Since, I always use floor racks instead. At least I know they won't be falling off the wall.

That sucks! But seriously I have to ask, mostly so that shit doesn't happen to me   Between the hanger itself, the locking mechanism and the three screws into the stud, how the hell did it fall! You have me nervous! Do tell.

I don't think these hangers were made for extra storage items like cinder blocks etc...
I always install toggle bolts into the walls that you buy from Lowe's home improvement.
www.toggler.com...3/16x2 1/2
You drill the hole and insert the toggle that comes with these tie strap looking holders on it with the plastic inserts... You run them all the way down and then pull the straps tight. then cut off the excess and trim away the rest with a razor blade.
Bang!
You have a mounting hole times three that can hold up a Damn Volkswagen engine for display...
These come in a box of 5 ,10,20, or 30 depending on how many you need. They work so great, I keep an extra box of 30 in the utility room for what ever I may want to hang, mount, or fasten. ;) Check these out and never worry. ;)

String swing for me.
6 years 6 guitars in the living room no issues.
Had a neighbour who's a carpenter do it.
No worries....

I have used "Off the Wall" hangers for about 7 years now...they use a triangle shaped metal plate and the hanger itself is a padded hook that is curved at the end so its pretty hard for a guitar to come out. I always put 2 of the 3 screws into a stud and the 3rd gets an anchor for 30lbs....there is NO WAY the things are coming off the wall....I can do pullups using 2 of them and i am 185lbs...I do however keep microfiber cloths on the hooks just in case...not taking the chance that they screw up my necks...they say they are safe, but I havent ever chanced it....plus it gives me a cloth right there to wipe down the neck before and after I play....

Hercules. I use extra long screws into the studs to make damn sure they're not going anywhere

Not to threadjack, but I was under the impression that it's better to keep them in cases. I know it's a pain and it takes up a lot of room, but am I wrong?

You're probably 100% correct... But it is what it is, and some peeps love to hang 'em and stare at 'em. I, for one, thing of them as art when not in use. I love looking at 'em. But I believe you may have a very valid point - in the case when not in use. Makes good sense.

OK, cool. I'd really like to keep mine on one of those multi stand case thingys, but keep coming back to the keep it in the case thing. :aww: It's so much easier to pick them off the rack or wall than digging through all those cases, etc.
