Guitarists you like that are off the grid

This guy is so good it is truely sickening that he is not on all major stages everywhere. I have loved his playing since the first time I saw him in 1997. Still a great innovative player. songwriter and singer. My favorite of all time. Good thing I am 15 minutes from Canada. I get to see him at least once a year when he comes through Sarnia, ON.

Off the grid "name" guitarist - Billy White. Blew me away with the Don Dokken solo stuff.

Off the grid non name players? Wow - tons of local CT boys here, as well as NY/LI, and I can't tell you how many cities I have been in on tour where openers had killer guitarists, or on a night off we hit a small club for a drink, and the band was unreal.
Lots of talented people out there who will never be heard.

Sir Bob Mould (my reason for picking the guitar up!)

Hellz yeah! I'm from the same home town (Malone, NY). My bandmates and I used to go to Mould's Corner Grocery on Elbow Street to get sodas when we practiced. They were always so cool to talk to, especially when it had anything to so with Hüsker Dü.

Check out Bob shreddin it up in this song:

AWESOME! I saw Sugar in my hometown on the Copper Blue tour. A night so intense I didn't speak about it for 2 years!!

I've been listening to a fair bit of sugar again recently after being reminded about them in this thread.
Dunno if you guys ever heard Swervedriver back in the day? They were kinda that genre & era. Pretty big indi rock band from the UK. Think they did relatively well in the States.

Nile Rodgers. Funk genius.
Andy Taylor- great stuff with Duran Duran and Power Station.

I'M ABOUT TO BLOW SOME MINDS!!!
JON GOMM

I'm kind of over all the post-Michael Hedges percussion/tap players (Andy McKee stands out above most...and he's far from off the grid these days), but this dude is pretty awesome. Glad I took the time to listen.

I will always fly the flag for Tracii Guns.

Speedy, melodic and crafty.all at the perfect times.

Warren Hatfield (Voiden Thorr) --Valient Thorr
James Love-Dillinger Escape Plan

Both are from Houston and are jaw-dropping incredible
