Guy Slamming Monster Cables haha

Ive only had one monster speaker cable break, because I turned my rack too far and bent the connector.

I am rough on instrument cables, I have not had a brand that did not eventually break anyways... :dunno:

I've got nothing against Monster as far as their actual cables go.
I'm sure they're great and just as good as most others out there.

It's them as a company I hate, ruthless money hungry bullies

Monster cables have larger plugs that wear my jacks out faster. I'm into Lava clear connect.

I forgot to mention the monster cables that I have are monster rock cables, I use them for most of my pedal board and my guitar > pedal board and from pedal board > amp.

I've broken at least maybe 3 out of my own stupidity, mostly drunk and carrying my pedal board, or tired and carrying my pedal board, or tired and tripping over my pedal board... snapped the tip off the jack...

I think I got a 20 footer replaced because I bent the tip, a 12 footer because I broke the tip, and a 6" because I shattered the tip off. All were replaced with brand new ones instantly at the store.

May be a bastard of a company, but I don't really wanna deal with RMA to some other manufacturer that takes 6-8 weeks or something you know?

I've had 3 foot Monster studio pro speaker cable that's been my go to speaker cable for my heads for over 10 years. I was working at a guitar store at the time and was able to A/B a lot of speaker cables and the studio pro series had a noticeable improvement on low end response and treble detail. I didn't notice a difference between the Monster rock series and any other brand. I actually dig the plain old lamp style Ernie Ball cables too. They do seem to have gotten flimsier over the years though. Instrument cable, my favorite is George L for home and recording. For live, sonically I couldn't care less as long as it doesn't break easily.

I have had to deal with Monster Cable for the last 15 years working the the cable/sat industry. I can't count how many times I've swapped out the Monster stuff for the stock cables on my truck to fix a problem. Total waste of money.

Add in the overly litigious company habits and I'd never buy from them.

I work in the cable (TV) industry too and completely agree. People pay big dollars for their racks to be wired with Monster and I frequently have to replace all the co-ax. Off course it's always fun explaining to the customer why but when they see their favorite channel isn't tiling anymore they get it. Now, some Monster co-ax is fine but they offer so much "aesthetically" friendly shite (some as thick as a shoe lace) that just won't support what digital needs on a co-ax cable. Anyway....still love my Monster guitar speaker cable

I find it funny when you guys bash a company for going after people infringing on THEIR trademark. They were smart enough to register the name Monster. Maybe I should start making cars since my last name is Ford, or Ferrari. Maybe I should open up an investment company since my name JP Morgan. They have every right to fight for their name. You may not like it... ;)

Did you read the legal response in the link above??

You're way off track, the issue that came up had nothing to do with the Monster name

If their suits were anything related to a possible confusion to product, then I would agree. They sue anyone who uses Monster in the title, whether or not there could be any way to confuse products (which is a key to the legitimacy of that sort of case). They threaten folks who don't have resources to fight it, and either settle or drive them out of business. When that is a core ideal to your business practice there is something wrong with your values.

i agree that the plugs are bulkier than the neutrik plugs and a pain in the ass to unplug at times. i make my own cables.

I use to buy a ton of Monster Studio Pro 1000s and they are great. Many, many years, never one issue . Easily hear a difference. Got tired of going to guitar center so I started using Evidence Audio Lyrics - and over 1/2 have had problems. Luckily I I have more cables than I need, so I'm not really buying anything right now.
