Dave which Matrix amp were you using? I'm considering selling my HHV800 -- it sounds great, but it's a 4 space, heavy beast of an amp.

Both Dave and Brad (Cameron Amplification) were using the Matrix GT800FX. Here is a link to is along with the manual to download. http://matrixguitaramplification.com/products/

Agree with Dave's recommendation with using old rack stuff. Those units just cannot be beat.

My Marshall 4x12s are all 16 ohm cabs, so could I even use this poweramp with them??

How about suggesting some of that old rack stuff?

Yep, you would just get less power...

Todd I can make you the same line out I had at the show. Also as far as I am concerned the matrix power amp I used at the show is better then the HH I have. You heard it. In this kind of setup you have to be concerned with what effect you are using. Old effects have a analog dry path new ones usually don't. With new effects you can have phasing issues if you plan to run dry in the cab. To fix this you would need a mixer. I say go with some old stuff it just sounds better.

Thanks Dave! I will call you next week about the Matrix and the line out box. Right now I'm just using my old Rockman Stereo Echo and Carvin power amp. Seems to be working really well.

i just dont understand the w/d/w set up are you able to change from clean channel to distortion channel do you need a aby box? how does that work i have a randall rm100 with 4x12 cab and a mesa boggie single reflector with 4x12 cabinet what else would it need to run a w/d/w set up with what i have thanks

Don't grade me on quality here. Just slapped it together.

In my case my Custom Audio Electronics Amp Selector provides a line signal from my amps to the wet side of the rig.

A Suhr Line out box is a great solution for you to consider

Amazing how an actual fender and marshall can get those sounds better than amps that claim to do it all ;) :D

Lexicon PCM70, PCM41, PCM42, Roland SDE3000, 1000, 2000, SRV2000, the old Yamaha delays, etc.

I made the mistake of trying my 5153 with a W/D setup ... 5153 (line out)->FX->Carvin SS Poweramp->2x12, and 5153->2x12 ... the mistake was that now whenever I have to run mono it seems so bland.

You just change channels on your amp (assuming you have a clean and dirty channel). Or, if you play a clean amp and use a stompbox for distortion, you just hit the pedal.

The second amp in the rig just amplifies your original tone, with effects added.

I run out the line out of my CCV into a TC2290 out to a VHT 2100 Classic to 2 1x12 Cameron Cubes for the wet signal and a Cameron 4x12 for the center dry. Sounds Huge!

So Brad, what's the 2290 set for? A couple delays?

490 mil sec stereo ping pong on the two wets. Center bone dry = WIN

I use the VHT because it sounds awesome and it doesn't move. The Matrix is killer and small and portable. Probably the best solution for wet cabs.

Hmm got me thinking about cubes now. Im at that point in a few weeks to order some kind of 1x12s. I have 2 MC90 mesa speakers, We use to have Ev speakers for the PA, always wanted evm 12l's for guitar cabs.

The Camerons cubes were designed by Mark and have two large Ports at the top which really add some nice bottom end to the tone which is always needed with the cubes. I like the Bogners as well.

That's why I use them...

I used to run a Plexi like this all of the time because it didn't have a loop and it was the best way to add my time based effects. I ran that rig like this:

I'm a big fan of this type of set up and still do it once in a while with my 2266VM.

I picked up a MiniMass a week ago so I could try it with my 1482 and it is just as cool with that.

How about a dry 1 x 12 combo with a wet 2 x 12 side... are there ratios as to where the wet would be overkill? I have a 4 x 12 for home playing that would be cool paired up with a 2 x 12 but i'd also want to gig that 2 x 12 with the jcm combo. Would it be wet overkill?

I have to say what I heard from those cubes at the NAMM Show impressed me and got me thinking about them. Great way to keep your W/D/W rig small, but still sounding big. And they did not blow when pushed by the CCV100 you say? How high were you able to run that MV at without speaker distress?

What speaker variations are you using in the Cameron cabs Brad?
