Dave which Matrix amp were you using? I'm considering selling my HHV800 -- it sounds great, but it's a 4 space, heavy beast of an amp.

Both Dave and Brad (Cameron Amplification) were using the Matrix GT800FX. Here is a link to is along with the manual to download. http://matrixguitaramplification.com/products/

Agree with Dave's recommendation with using old rack stuff. Those units just cannot be beat.

those matrix switching supplies have great specs, anyone know what makes them better use for instrument applications here instead of a QSC?

In my case my Custom Audio Electronics Amp Selector provides a line signal from my amps to the wet side of the rig.

A Suhr Line out box is a great solution for you to consider

Amazing how an actual fender and marshall can get those sounds better than amps that claim to do it all ;) :D

That's why I use them...
Love the soundcheck vid Zach, very cool tones your getting

What speaker variations are you using in the Cameron cabs Brad?
They are using the Celestion G12H30(70th Anniv) speaker in those Cameron cabs. A side note, wish people would specify which G12H30 when they post about using that speaker, there are 3 different reissue versions of that Celestion H magnet speaker. They each have their own tone going on.

I thought it was just a matter of time before Zach would post that Bradshaw video demoing his sophisticated W/D/W rig. Not a lot of us have the luxury of using such a refrigerator sized type setup. That is a lot to lug around. I can see using that around the house/studio. Also, would certainly need more than 5+ min setup time and ample space. My friend told me other day that he is sometimes only given 5+min for setting his rig up (Does this really go on often? Maybe it was because he helps his drummer?.) not to mention some areas not being able to even fit a large pedalboard or switching system the size that Zach has.

Right on... Thanks!! I don't use the huge rig all the time, but ALWAYS love it, when I do.

Wild setups! I run from my Marshall Power Brake speaker out into a Suhr ISO line out box, into my Lexicon FX unit, into the FX loop of my...wait for it...

Ok I am confused about one thing and i keep coming back to it:

If I stick a hotplate between amp and speaker and take line out to wet cab, I am ok with leaving the amp at 8 ohm (8 ohm cab)

Now, if i think the hotplate colors my sound, I run one jack out direct from amp to dry cab. Now the second jack out from the amp into a hotplate set to load and out to effects/poweramp/ other 8 ohm cab. In this scenario, would I not need to change what Ohm my amp is running in to effectively power the two cabs? (one being the dry cab and the other being the hotplate load?)

Just trying to get this straight in my head.

For a Wet/Dry-- (For NO Dry cab, just set the hotplate to LOAD) (For zero coloration, do not attenuate the signal w/ the hotplate 0dB)

Amp speaker out to hotplate
Hotplate speaker out to Dry cab
Hotplate Line out to effects input
effects out to power amp input
Power amp speaker out to Wet cab

Zach - If you are using an attenuator, shouldn't you run the line out from the attenuator? Otherwise, you get a loud un-attenuated signal from your amp to the line out, no?

Either way, depending on if the amp's line out has an adjustable line out. Many amps don't have line outs at all. For amps that don't have an adjustable line out the signal will vary depending on how loud you're driving the amp. When I was doing that w/ the Mojave Peacemaker, I used the line out from the Hotplate.

Alright, I'll trust you guys but i seem to remember thinking there was a diff between 0db and no hotplate... I guess in theory it is just acting as a bridge when not attenuating. I'll give it a go when my EH 44 magnum comes in. Also like the idea of a stereo cab here rather than having two cabs but you do get a cool feel when you actually have some distance between two cabs I suppose. I'm probably going to go with a small portable setup: jcm800 combo -hotplate-delay-chorus-EH 44 magnum- cheapo 1 x 10 cab with a tonker in it. We'll see how that sounds.

I think you're going to be having some serious fun (Put the chorus before the delay, not after) Well... try it BOTH ways and see what you prefer, but I think you'll find some nice uses for the modulated delay repeats.

Good call..time based effects after sound altering ones... how about the following: guitar-wah-boost-phase? Prob put wah and phase on a loop pedal now that i think of it. Hey look at that I just built a pedal board!

I'd put the boost after the phase, so it doesn't slam the front end of the phase pedal. I put my wah toward the end of the chain, as it's a filter. So it comes after OD, distortion etc... so there's a more harmonically rich signal to filter. (There's no real right or wrong about it, just preference, so experiment and see what works best for your tastes.)

guitar-phase-boost-wah

or
