No contest, fret finish on the made in China stuff makes me wonder what the hell they were thinking. 1300$ Canadian for one of these things and that is what you get? No thanks. I'll stick with Japan or Mexico. I couldn't believe how rough they were. Sure you can say all it takes is a dressing but come on, for anything over 500$ I shouldn't have to worry about that. I'm thinking i might pick up another so cal at some point instead.. the neck dimensions which i didn't gel with are now growing on me and the spec that I dug (N4 neck- flatter) is getting old for me now. Funny how that is. I think it is from recently playing Les Paul types and getting used to smaller fretboards which i now see lead to less fatigue for me in the hands. Anyway back on track, chinese guitar... think twice. Not ruling all of them out but for any type of finish, I'd hope they send them to their US quality control first
