I went and checked out a hafler t3 preamp today, I was getting some pretty good sounds out of it. Nothing mindblowing...pretty good cleans and a decent crunch and (it's cheap) that's all I'm after.

Does anyone have experience with the Triple Giant though? I would really like to check out one out.....how does it compare with the T3?

Hey japetus!!
The Triple is Reinhold Bogner's design. If you thought the T3 was ok, The Triple will blow you away!
Not even in the same league!!!!
...Then there's the Fish ...

I had a Triple Giant at one point and I did like it. Think of it as a Fish, but made overseas by Digitech(which owned Hafler at the time). Some good tones in that box though. It does need a good poweramp though, to really hear all of it's possibilities.

my buddy used to work for Hafler way back when and let me borrow one of these one time and i was not into the modular thing with racks and such, but I used a 50w 72' Marshall head to power into this Triple Giant beast and I thought it was GREAT sounding...at least for hard rock and cleans. can u still find hafler stuff out there?

I hope so, I really want to try a Triple Giant soon. I am trying to make an easy cheap rack!!

It's funny you brought this up, I've been looking at the TGs alot lately again, it's one preamp I'd LOVE to try, or even get one and have Trace mod it fishy style
