Is there a 1 stop shop fx processor for me?

I'm watching a video the Studio Rats put out on YouTube on the GX100 and does it look ridiculously easy to set up! I wonder if the GT1000 is just as easy to get into and build some patches. I'll have to do more research. The Studio Rats channel is always so good at explaining stuff they're demo'ing.

The GT-1000 is more complex (I had one), no touch screen, no color screen, etc., but it's their top modeler even though it's older than the GX-100 (I have one).

Since you're only using it for effects, I think the GX-100 is better, cost effective option; and easier to use

Another suggestion for a Fractal VP4 here. I have 2 of them and they have been constantly used since they first came out last year. Very happy with how they work for me.

Strymon should be making a rack. I always have said it would be epic but they have no plans to be a success. Pedals are bs on the higher end of processing.

I will sell you my ms3 cheap bwah. What I like about it is that you have millions of options with fx, routings of fx, and if you have some of your own favorite pedals you can still use them. It has three controllable loops. It’s all boss effects that you can move pre and post… plus it’s programmable… and no modeling…

I've recently built my first rack and have similar tastes to yourself! Cae3+se, mpxg2, pcm81, am800r, klark dimension power cond and mixer into a 290 and 2 thiele cabs. Stupid o erkill but makes me laugh (and deaf). I still haven't hooked up any kind
Of foot control... im thinking a small voes to literally turn on each unit for the 1 effect.. ie circular delays with the korg, reverb on the pcm, trichorus on the mpx (I have italos presets) etc. Half terrified of stepping into midi land tbh. Anyways, I have the r1 controller for the mpx, is the voes a good idea?

I'd say if you are looking for the best unit for FX, it's the Axe FX. But it doesn't have to be a III. Used units can be bought at a really reasonable price, and if you aren't interested in the amp modelling, it's amazing how deep you can go when it comes to creating patches. It's also a great backup rig should anything fail on stage or wherever you are playing. Form factor is great too, just 2U required in your rack case.

Helix or HX Effects will let you build banks and switch all your FX live without amp modeling.

@Aidanspaghetti : I think you could do everything with the R1. If the need for more complicated midi actions arises, I'd get a Luminite Graviton. I have one and it's really great and cheap.

I was in your same situation a few years back I ended up going with the line 6 HX stomp. The reason why I went with this option is because I could use it direct into a PA as an all inclusive rig or I use it in the effect loop of my Suhr PT. It’s the best of all worlds. We had a show recently where there was zero stage so I needed to have an incredibly small footprint. I left my amplifier in the car and just went direct and the sound was great. I have a theater show next week and I’ll be using my full set up. This piece of gear goes with me no matter what I do.

I bought a Line 6 HX Stomp XL for this, on a rack shelf connected via 4CM. Since it also does amp modelling, it's my backup in case my amp goes down.

If you're just wanting effects for the amp's loop, perhaps the HX Effects would be an option.

I previously used an Eventide H9 for this, but didn't like the constraints of only being able to run one algorithm at a time. The H90 might be a good option too.

good advice. a way to split the dry signal and a mixer is something i’d consider as well.

Check out the Radial Headlight pedal, it can push four outputs with just a single input. Do note, there are more expensive versions of these for people who demand the very best, but I really like my Headlight. I use it to push multiple amps. You could just have one output to the FOH and the other into your processor/pedal before feeding that into one of the DI boxes on the stage. It's much smaller than a mixer and easy enough to mount on a small pedalboard.
