I usually use my Gibson Firebird with nothing higher gain than a Marshall. I actually love it for cleaner tones.

I figured today that I'd plug it into my Hagen just for grins. Boy, oh boy... I didn't know what I was in for!!!

Wicked tone was what I was in for! All four channels responded swimmingly to the Firebird pickups. I don't know why, but whatever! My Firebird is going to get a lot more play time now. Bad A$$.

I probably just spilled the beans on the most cool guitar and amp pairing EVER. Someone should pay me for this stuff. J/k...

:D

I want a firebird now :aww:

I really like the Diezels, especially Hagen with moderat output pickups.

Seriously... I want another Firebird now, just 'cause.

I hear you, Gutmann. I just found that magic. Most of my humbucker equipped guitars have quasi-higher output pickups. (Think Duncan 'Custom' territory, but nothing too crazy.) I have enjoyed them all though the Hagen.

My Strat with gold Lace Sensors was okay, but that was too little output. I never would have guessed I'd be so into this medium output 'bucker/mini 'bucker scene!!!

All comes down to the pickups in my opinion. I can only really get into my Diezels (specially the Hagen) with lower to moderate output pups.

Glad you found tonal nirvana. Hagen is an incredible amp. I am sooooooooo hooked on mine, and hey, Ch.2 simply doesn't get the love it deserves

Agreed. It is ultra tasty. It kicks out the jams for sweet Marshall-esque happy good times! Hahaha!!!

secret... ppsssss. try with mini humbuckers in a thick mahogany body with a maple top w/rosewood fretboard (old l.p. deluxe) , sonic heaven !!

High Gain works with "traditional" or "vintage" guitars...I played a Gibson Custom Shop 356 (semi-hollow body, carved mahogany with maple top) through my Bogner Uberschall. Sounded fantastic. Also tried out a Hughes & Kettner Tri-Amp with the same guitar, could get some great controlled feedback and great note sustain - forever if you wanted it to. Firebirds are sexy guitars - let's hear/see clips of this sucker through the Hagen!
