I am having a midi issue. I set the channels of head to the midi board and in example this is what happens.
Ch1 head to ch 1 pedal ch2 head to ch2 pedal etc.
We r using two diff Randall 4 ch midi pedals and a Rjm mastermind.

You hit 1 goes to 1.
Hit 2 goes to 2
you hit 3 goes to 3
hit 4 n goes to 4
Then..... You hit 3 on pedal it jumps to ch 1 or hit 2 and goes to 3.
It jumps around erratic. Then starts working again?
Does anyone have a clue?
We have replaced main board ,back board ,midi chips ,ribbon that connects the two boards, and the midi in jack. Virtually brand new inside. Same issue. 232cap is doing the work.
Does anyone have a clue what it could be?
Does anyone use their midi on hagen flawlessly.
Midi pedals were tested on other heads Cameron Herbert and gmajor2 they work perfect.
Plz help?

Hi Chris,

just sent You an email. As we replaced everything it would be
an option to test another Hagen. We have no midi issues on
the Hagen and other new models. Where did You buy the amp ?
Before we replace the amp I would like to be sure there is nothing
else that can cause the issue.

Thank You so much for the patience. Most customers would be
going crazy in this case. I´m sure we WILL solve the issue.

Peter I am great full for you helping me and Art trying to figure this out. I got amp from Tonemonster who bought it new from brad. It is so confusing we changed everything and it still acts erratic.
We tried the midi pedals on a Cameron just to be sure again. They worked perfect!
They also worked on Herbert and my vh4. 3 pedals 3 cables all the same issue. Weird?

Sent a message with a last idea. If it don´t
works I will jump out of the window.

:scared:

The Hagen isn't in omni mode is it? I had that issue and it took me awhile to realize I was sending messages on multiple midi channels and the Hagen was listening to them all.

I miss my hagen... i bought it and its been at the shop since i got it

I got to play it at the ampfest last weekend and it impressed a bunch of guys... really sounded good thru g12 h30s very impressive, i usually run k100s but think i gonna x pattern the k100 w g12h30s... n see what that does!! it was very alive sounded not that its not but dam great speakers...

Art has tried omni mode.... Same erratic
Tried midi channel 1 .... Same erratic
All methods have been exhausted.

Any other thoughts ?

Ok anyone else use a Randall rm4? What midi pedals are you using which really shouldn't matter midi is midi. My amp tech gave me my head back. Still midi is broken. No matter what was done we have exhausted all tests. Anyone have a clue on what would cause this strange problem? No midi no good cant change channels from front of stage lol.

Any help would be great.

I had the same problem with my Hagen head - and it turned out I hadn't set the amp to the proper mode. I use a GCX ground control, and have my rig set up so that each preset on the controller(e.g. 0-99) corresponds with a preset on all of my rack gear(0-99 for Hagen, 0-99 for all my processors). That way, you can leave the Hagen in OMNI mode and it won't get confused when reading program changes.

In your case, it sounds like the controller is sending messages on different cc's and Hagen is getting confused. I would try a different MIDI controller and see if that fixes it.

That's not it. Ive went thru all that. Omni n assigned it to midi ch 1.
Tried 3 diff controllers. I just bought a new Diezel Columbus to try. I believe there's a glitch in it.
