He was something special. He & EVH in my lifetime what a gift.

His legacy is based on, essentially, two studio albums. That’s beyond amazing.
Shit got real in the world of "rock guitar" when Blizzard dropped - it's just that simple. From the moment the needle hit the vinyl, my jaw was on the floor, and to this day, I'm still floored with what he "created" in the little time he was given. Untouchable.

Right, and between 22-25 years old. There are a lot of comparisons between Rhoads and EVH, mainly because they came up at roughly the same time. But Eddie’s catalog is much, much larger than Randy’s. I think comparisons (other than style) between the two are unfair, simply based on that. But that’s my own pet peeve/bias.

Rock in peace  Man, I wore out a few cassette tapes listening to this guy.

His legacy is built on being exceptional, period.
I have one of the last business cards he would use for lessons, his mom gave it to me and that is another story...R.R.R.I.P.

Yes, two albums of exceptional playing and composition. DOAMM the title track is one of the most hauntingly complex metal tracks ever recorded, IMHO.

Edit…you met his mom? She seemed like she was a very nice lady. I’ve enjoyed listening to her interviews. I need to see about taking a tour of Musonia while I still can.

She invited me there and met her and she showed me around...I recently talked to her other son and I'm not sure u can tour the school after what happened there. The history is sickening to even think about. He told me more than I wanted to know and now she's passed. The fucking thieves desecrated the place, stole her silver trumpet and so many personal items and yet he still was way cool. I'll post a thread about my trip one day. She was so super nice. Blew me away when she gave me his business card. I told a friend it glows at night lol.

That’s awesome, not the robbing the school part, the other part. You should share with us that experience with Mrs. Rhoads. That stuff is pure gold to me.

Coming up on 40 yrs when I got to see him . First US date of the Diary tour
