There was a time when fat strats were a must for players and guitar heroes. They were fast, sexy and cut thru mix like butter.

...that's so far from what I see today. Honestly I'm not very familiar with nowadays music scene, but with the exception of Steel Panther I don't see many Hard 'n Heavy bands using HSS strats or similar. Lots of guys out there craving for Chubtone, Luxxtone, Charvels & co. guitars, sure, I'm one of those, but when it comes to the music scene I've no players playing them in my radar (which is likely old and broken).

So I'm accepting suggestions. Any worthy fat strat based hard rock/heavy metal acts?

Most modern players have switched over to newer 25.5+ scale designs with mahogany or other woods with fixed bridges for a heavier sound, especially with lower tunings.

I love my Super Strats but these days I mostly use them to record leads.
Most alder body guitars with Floyd’s just won’t cut it for a lot of modern music.

I'm deffo a strat metal dude!

Charvels are my go too, they cover all ground and are strat shaped

But nothing has the sound like my 72' Reissue with YJMs, just had something cool about it. Attack cuts more than any other guitar

Love my extended range Superstrats

Dunno why no one out there is making production guitars like this. Guess there just isn’t demand. They’ll probably come back in vogue at some point.

Doesn’t Sachel play charvel now?
Yep, but I meant the whole Fender-Charvel like segment of players

I like his stuff, and he's a truly inspired player, but not exactly the Hard n heavy I was thinking

Maybe it's the modern music that doesnt suit me afterall  the whole GuitarHero era is gone for good, and its tools (the fancy strats) as well. No more Dokken, RATT, Whitesnake (the fancy ones)...

That's my way mate!  Strats just deliver! Too bad they have been overwhelmed by Les Pauls apparently.

Personally I’m a LP fan... but Dave, Adrian, & Janick in Maiden are keeping the Strat in metal look alive. Yngwie too.

Joe Holmes is busy sticking forks in his strats while laying down fucking dangerous riffage....

He's not a shredder, but Stephen from Deftones uses a Alder strat shape (ESP) with a Floyd for modern music. Granted they are 8 stings.

The good old guys...Craig Goldie as well, he has some quite rad Strat shaped ESPs...but it's a drop in the sea.

He's a huge player, always loved his works and his playing, too bad he's completely out of the scene atm

I prefer HSH to HSS. but I had a squier I hotrodded the shit out of that was HSS with SD's. I have at least a dozen superstrats.

Who or what is that?

That's Adam Levine, lead vocalist of Maroon 5. He plays guitar onstage with the band on occasion and plays pretty good too! That looks like a Fender Custom Shop Strat with a Floyd Rose bridge that costs around $4K. My friend has the same guitar at his studio.
