Both good amps and both have good things going for them. But, shared EQ with $4000 multi-channel amps is not a good thing.

the more you add to the circuit the more you lose something... if you cant get it done with the single eq of a Wiz, well....

What does this mean for the one knob "Simple Clean"?

For sure. I am missing a few screws.

Thx all.

Looks less cloudy now. It will bemich easy if i could find some descent sample of the mcII with ligh or medium gain. Do you have some links ???

If i decide to go with a mc2 , i will not be able to import in europe the wizard 4x12 (shipping cost are way too expensive). What kind of speaker can match with the wizard for someone that searching classic tone not too harsh : greenback ?

In the bogner world, 100b is the grail but very hard to find. I understand and that confort my opinion, that the xtc is a more polite amp thant the wizard. Maybebe he could to a little more du to boost, option et more eq... But i have a pedal board in front and loops of my amps with boost od...

Moreover, i have to admit that i have a 40% use of the amp in blues rock / vintage rock tone., and 40% is classic hard rock sound acdc / the darkness... That why at first i thought about a metroamp plexi or a germino ( with boost and od for the gained stuff). But if wizard amp can offer the same quality in term of vintage marshall sound and much more gained one with its own growl and power . I think it could be great !

Why don't you contact Rick directly at Wizard. He custom builds all the amps one at a time. He has several different transformers for various voicing and will customize your amp with all the EQ or switching/loop functions you want. Tell him what you are looking for in an amp and go from there. He's a nice guy and will take the time with you, providing you are serious about buying. BTW, he has an all new MC25 that he just introduced at the Nashville Amp Show last weekend. I talked to him yesterday and he says it was a huge hit among the Nashville recording crowd. It is an EL84 based amp with all the features of the 50/100 watt models. Feel free to tell him I sent you.

Steve

If I were you I'd get a Friedman BE100, or the Wizard. Even if Wizards are rare here in Europe, that makes it even more desirable IMO.

By the way I have owned a 100B, and compared to the Friedman, I much prefer the BE100.

Yes, he will. I've bought several from him and he will do as agreed. Since he shit canned that other Frenchman working for him, and isn't off on 2 year AC/DC tours and doesn't rely on dealers and forum trolls, he's actually turned things around and making a good penetration into the market as far as endorsements. But, his biggest target is studios.

He didn't give me the switching I asked for. But I'm not as cool as you,

No Vintage 30's... the Wizard already has plenty of high mids and complementing it with V30s will sound harsh. Rick loads his cabs with Celestion Heritage G12M (Greenbacks) or Heritage G12H(55). I have the latter and it sounds awesome.

Get yourself a good quality rear loaded 4x12 cab. Load it with Celestion Heritage G12M-25's with 75 hz cones on the top, and Celestion Heritage G12H-30's with 55hz cones on the bottom. You can't do better than that with a Wizard amp.

I think it's actually a 6V6 power section, not EL84's.

Yeah, my bad. It will also take 84's without having to rebias.

Regardless, I think I want one. :D

I would really like to know how much low end it has though.....

i have always wanted to try an mc2 and metal side to side to see how they compared.

this is very true...he has done some great things for me already. He has one of my amps now for updates. He is very easy to work with and straight to the point- which is appreciated. Not the kind of guy you would want to bug weekly about status updates though...lol just be patient and the work will be done.

Heritage Greenbacks are 20 watts, not 25
Not too sure combining a 98dB speaker with a 100dB speaker would be the best option, even though I know you tried the actual cab with that combo
A mix of G12H 55 & 75 sounds interesting though
