mark III's are easy to work on.

Relative to a IV, sure.
Still rather work on a 2203/2204 though. :ROFLMAO:

My bud bought 2 Mark IIIs in early 2000s for $400 each. Miss those days

Even less. IMO this isn’t a great deal but I’m not up on Mesa Mark III pricing. I know they went up but a non-working chassis only for $1200 seems high.
Clean ones are $1800-2200 these days. I wish I would have seen this a couple weeks ago, just bought a blue stripe that I was hoping was a green!

I don't think they're worth that kind of money when they're in mint condition.

Doesn’t matter what you, or I think. All that matters is what people are willing to pay.

Clean JMP/JCMs with vertical inputs are even more; 3K. Just in 2017 I bought a great sounding 82 2204 for 799. Only 2 Mark 3s I had; 2 for about 1400. Returned them both.
Harsh city.

I found the red stripe DRG I had to be harsh as well. Didn’t keep it longer than 2 weeks I think. Could see a hardcore metal guy digging it but not for me

The no stripes I had weren't harsh, but they were a little blanket-y.

Every blue & red stripe I've had / played, with exception of this new 1999 one, have been so harsh I just couldn't do it. Gave me nasty ear fatigue. Especially the blues. That's why this '99 is so weird (in a good way).

eBay’s been a bit of a hotbed for mark 3’s as of late. Found a SRG blue stripe combo for $950 last week and a DRG++ for 2k buy it now. Seems like the middlemen don’t really understand what they’re looking at.
