People like this are scum... Mesa content!

Exactly. Why cry about it and lash out when my comment was only a reasonable response. I'll remember how you take yourself so seriously and can't handle the shit game when it comes your way.

I propose a sticky for when retarded listings like this come up so we can all go fill the douchebag's inbox with lowball offers.

Not really as I thought about this for a minute, and what it seems like for me is this... Someone out there who really wanted it for the actual reason to use it to make music and play it and was wanting one to only to find out that they are all sold and to these kind of people who bought them with the sole intention of just trying to make a ridiculous profit and most likely they don't even play guitar, so yeah that does piss me off, but I also am not losing any sleep over it.

i can understand that, its not something i would do myself, but i would be more surprised if this didnt happen with a sought after limited run item. ive seen this talked about in a few places now, so im sure he get way more traffic than he would have asking a normal price, and his make offer button is on, which maybe someone will hit because they saw his ridiculous price and clicked on him first??

These threads always go the same. People get triggered by a ridic price. Then people get triggered that someone got triggered by a ridic price. Then people get triggered that someone got triggered that someone got triggered by a ridic price. ASO.

Why would anyone care what someone charges? Why would anyone care that someone else cares what someone charges? It’s like it’s a spiral.

I fail to see how the seller is a scumbag. It's business. He has something that is scarce and there are people who want it and who are willing to pay for it. Don't like it? Don't buy it.

That’s why I questioned if the outrage was the same for someone that let’s say flips a house, usually it’s looked at as smart business if you can buy something and then turn it around quick for a profit, musicians though you’re looked at as shitty if you do. We aren’t talking about essential life items being jacked up here

the collector markup is more annoying for me on guitars. Especially 80s golden era stuff like Dean, Hamer, BC Rich, because thats the stuff I would like to play music on

I love the james sound as much as anyone else but its honestly more hilarious than anything - a bunch of lawyers and tech bros spending 10 grand to cosplay as someone with talent, bitchpicking through "off to never never land" (as they call it) in their McMansion mancave once a month
Yeah man the BC Rich pricing is fucking awful!

Even the guitar center special bronze warlocks are showing up in the "I know what i have no lowballs" facebook marketplace listings

The Korean stuff is full on above a grand no matter what it is

the USA stuff might as well be custom shop prices

I remember reading a recent article about someone who bought... I think, a painting... from a private owner. I think it was the widow of husband who owned the painting. She was asking like $10,000 or something for it and was in a hurry to sell because she was cleaning out the estate. The buyer knew the painting's real value and gladly paid the $10,000 (or whatever the price was). Then he turned around, had the painting properly restored and appraised for like... millions. And people in the comments of the article were sooooooo angry at this guy. Called him a scumbag and a jerk and an a-hole for know what he was buying and "taking advantage" of the seller. I completely disagree. I think that's just being a smart, informed buyer. Happens all the time.

Someone buys a painting or a chair or a watch or a guitar or a vase or a cabinet or a table at a thrift store or tag sale, etc. Then gets lucky and discovers it's worth a lot more. Everybody cheers. Yay! Good job! But when a buyer is informed and knows what he's dealing with, it makes him a bad guy lol. It's silly.
