Tell Hugo Rich from Bon Jersey said hi...I'll be seeing him in a few weeks. Have a great gig!

Aloha Rich,

I told Hugo you said hi, and he was very complimentary re: you being a super cool guy.

Keep Rockin...

Aloha Mark,

Thanks... It's going to be a fun time.

They say, "Break a leg"-- I say "Break theirs". ;)

I hope the cafe is actually a tiny cafe spot, cause it would be fucking hysterical to see him bust out that mega rig in a place like that. I would be shitting myself with laughter at the sheer awesomness. And if the sound guy gives you shit like, "do you really need all that?" You have to reply, "That's how I roll!" :hys:

Z-man rules!!!

The guy doing our sound is a friend who's done FOH sound for Peter Gabriel and Yes, to name a couple.... named Paul Higgins. He flew in from New York just to do this for us. REALLY cool guy. I was showing him the rig tonight, after rehearsal-- and he was thoroughly impressed and most stoked. He's going to pan the L/R at around 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock (Yes, it's a stereo FOH ;)), and have the middle dry cab panned a bit to the right (stage left). We have four separate monitor mixes and Hugo is using in ears, so it should be cool sound wise. (Crosses eyes, finger, and toes). I'm enthusiastic and can't wait to roll tomorrow.

My buddy Carlos sent me this pic he took at sound check. Just thought I'd share. That Schon guitar was actually Neal's...

I was at the show and can confirm that Zach and Separate Ways kicked ass all over the place. It was a great show (had to leave after "Who's Cryin' Now").

Zach, the show was really exciting. Not sure if you heard me but I yelled "Zach Peterson!!!" in between one of the songs. I was sitting on the bar adjacent to your bass player's rig. The singer is beyond awesome. I still think he is Steve Perry and you guys are just keeping it a secret. :)

The black Les Paul kicked ass as usual. :) Since that is one guitar of yours I'v actually played in person (as well as the entire rack rig and Cameron which I hope stirs huge jealously here on the forum) :D :D :D , it was pretty exciting.

I didn't get to see you play the sunburst Les Paul. Did you end up playing that later on? Wondering what pickups you have in that. Carlos if you are reading this, I saw you hiding behind Zach's rig during the performance. :)

Thanks for the kind words, Mike. I didn't play the sunburst LP. I ended up using the Black one all night. It just felt and sounded right, so I figured if it ain't broke...

Hugo is TOTALLY amazing!!! Such a nice guy and a pleasure to work with.

I used the Cameron HG Jose Marshall SLP for almost all of the rhythm crunch settings. The Fender Super for the Cleans, the Marshall 6100LE for Open Arms-- only, and the Boogie MKIII Coliseum for the Leads, and the Boogie R2 crunch setting for the rhythm for Lights and When you Love a Woman.

You gotta give me a call soon.

Zach

I LOVE that Super Reverb. I used it on the Intro to the show, Who's Cryin Now, The end of Mother Father, I'll be alright without you, and I think that was it.

Don't Stop Believin, shot from someone in the audience. The audience was so loud that they make it a bit hard to hear the band. hehehehe

Hope you enjoy

So I picked up the new Journey Live in Manila 2 Disc DVD from Wal-Mart, sounds and looks great. Unfortunately, I can't stand watching Arnel Pineda very long with this band. He does have a great voice and I really dig the new tunes on Revelation but his hopping around with eyes bugging out of his head gets annoying after awhile, watching him kind of reminds me of an old Bruce Lee film.

This one?
