So I think I'm gonna get some Hellatone 30/60 and run an x-pattern in my cabinet.

They're just rebranded Vintage 30's and G12H30's, right?

As far as the H30 is concerned, is it Chinese or English made?

If so, what are the differences between the two?

Thanks,

Domenic

Their deal was that they were broken in to simulate aging. They came in and were sold by avatar cabinets I believe. I believe they are Chinese. Production for Celestion went to china after 02 or around there. The g1230's were the 70th anniversary type. I put one in my 1974x type build but that speaker was really bright with that setup.

I see you are following my tip on that combo ;)

The Hellatone 30 is the G12H30
The Hellatone 60 is the Vintage 30
Apparently, some even still have the Celestion sticker under the Hellatone sticker
I think you can buy them from Avatar for the same price as the original Celestions
They are made in China, only the Heritage and Creamback serie are made in UK

I heard a rumor thru the grapevine that the Hellatone V30 were actually leftover Marshall OEM speakers, and were slightly different than the standard production V30. The few guys I've known that have owned them, have preferred them over the standard models fwiw. I was told they weren't available anymore from a friend, but I see they're still listed on the site. Have you contacted them yet?

You are probably thinking of the Hellatone 60L, which is a 70 watt Marshall/Celestiin V30MF. They were the speakers in the 280 watt versions of the Marshall Mode Four 4x12 cabs.

I also heard something similiar to the post above saying that the hellatone 60 is a slightly different spec then the standard vintage 30.

That's what kept me interested in checking them out.

Another cool thing (because it's offered to me right now) is blending EVH Greenbacks with Hellatone 60's.

What do you think that would sound like?

I have two (2) G12H30 70th Annys that are somewhat broken in, if you are interested.

I'm never a fan of mixing magnet types (heavy with medium or light)
The EVH is rated very low at 96dB, and will probably be overpowered by the G12H30 at 100dB

Hellatone speakers are Avatar's way of getting around the Celestion pricing system. They break in the G12H30's or V30's in, rebrand them and can then sell them for less than a brand new G12H30 or V30. Pretty cool idea.

Just 'spoke' with them and the demo's sound killer.
