Welcome and good Luck with the search. Make sure you get a great deal (don't buy new) so that you can trade or sell on here. I hope it's your end all be all amp but most likely you just started the merry go round

The powerball II is a close runner up for me for sure as well. Definately my second choice. I have played the original powerball and have never gotten the chance to play the newest model. The thing I liked about the ENGL is that it seems to be a little more flexible than the Bogner. Of course the XTC and The Diezel amps etc. . are a little out of my price range at the time, but something about the Uber just stands out to me. Hopefully it WILL be my holy grail, but I've played this game long enough to know that my expectations usually exceed the reality of how good the stuff is. Heck I'm playing through a Peavey JSX now which I actually really like. I am just hoping it at least smokes that.
Ya, the Uberschall is a great amp! Far beyond anything a JSX is capable of. I have a rev blue, and it is just killer! Someone mentioned them being similar to the rectifiers, and I can see that. It's like everything good about a rectifier x10, minus all the bad! The presence control is a bit different, as I'm sure you will see. It's more like an additional mid control. FWIW I think they sound great with EL34's. YMMV.

Guitar Center on Westheimer had a brand new Ubershall in stock about a week ago. I'm sure its still there. Go check it out.

This is the basic rundown of the Uberschalls:

Original - Fast gain taper on Gain Channel (some have said almost like an Off/On kind of jump in gain), high plate voltage, good power section compression/sag when pushed, Clean Channel volume slightly lower than Gain Channel by comparison, plastic carry handle (although some Original Uberschalls got the leather handle just prior to transitioning into the Rev2), EL34

Rev2 - Reduced gain taper on Gain Channel (same gain, just more controllable), high plate voltage, good power section compression/sag when pushed, Clean Channel volume slightly lower than Gain Channel by comparison, leather carry handle, EL34

Revision Blue - Same basic gain structure, lower plate voltage, less power section compression/sag when pushed, Clean Channel volume matched closer to Gain Channel, re-design of circuits, addition of Loop volume control, bias test points, power jewel changed to smaller LED type, dedicated design ability to allow power section slaving from an outside source (but this can be accomplished on Original/Rev2 versions), EL34

Twin Jet 1.0 - Gain Channel re-design in a direction towards the Original/Rev2 designs, plate voltage around 530v, less power section compression (due to the design switch to KT88 power tubes), Clean channel re-do in the direction of a high gain modded Marshall tone with very little ability to get a truly clean sound, addition of power section Presence and Depth controls, KT88

Twin Jet 1.1 - The same as 1.0 but with a modded gain taper on the clean channel, same level of gain available as 1.0 with the ability to go lower gain and clean up better
Twin Jet Purple mod – Clean channel becomes more “Marshall” like and the addition of the purple power LED.

Now keep in mind, I made up TJ 1.0/1.1 for the purpose of comparison , I don't think Bogner looks at them that way. Bogner does offer to perform the Clean Channel mod for anybody who owns what I call 1.0 at no charge.

These are the main differences I know about. I don't know specific component values between the different versions from a design stand point, but I can say my descriptions above, for the most part, are right on the money by way of research, comparisons and the general consensus from those who have had time with them. The volume difference between the Clean Channel and Gain Channel on the Original and Rev2 seem to be exaggerated. Yes there is a difference, but nothing that can't be fixed by just turning the Clean Channel Volume control up a little more than the Gain Channel volume control. Another words, adjust the amp with your ears, not your eyes.

Rev2 is my favorite.

i been playing the rev blue since 2005 and i played a the rev 1 green a few times and the green seemed like it had even more lowend than my blue.
i still havent tried the rev 2 yet.

I owned one for over a year and im not sure what Rev it was, but it was not long after they had come out. Weird thing for me is while I thought I liked the amp at first as i was running a stereo rig and once I started to focus solely on the uber seperately i realized my detest for the amp.
Crazy because I wanted to like the amp because you seldom see anything bad said about these, and there are some incredible clips. Im not saying the amp sucks, just that it was not even close to what I needed. I like high gain but with great clarity and too me it was way to dark, with WAY too much sag!! Good luck though, I hope it's what you are looking for

I have owned 5 Uberschalls and love them a bunch. Best one ever was the Rev. 2. Reinhold is amazing.

I've owned several. To me, they are all good and none really better than the other. The clean channel is not really meant to be a full on volume clean on any of them. It is meant for pedals. You buy an Uberschall for channel 2.

Any revision, they are everything they are described to be and is one of the best metal amps around. Just grab a good used one at a good price on ebay and don't worry too much about it. you can buy them all day long for about $1700. They are indestructible and run like a top, forever. To date though, the best I have owned was a Rev. Blue that was modded by Mark Cameron. Stock though, they simply romp.

Honestly, I like the JSX MUUUUCH Better than the Uber I played. Then again, the JSX was my holy grail amp for a long time. I miss that thing lol.

Be careful with this amp game haha. I wish I woulda just stuck with my 6505 212 combo. I went through amp after amp....got a JSX, VHT D60, 5150, 6505+, and a Mako Mak4 rack setup....ended up back at a 5150 212 combo. Wish I woulda stayed away from that money sucking pit that is buying/selling amps lol. Shoulda just got a Carvin V3 from the beginning and called it a day lol. Internetz be a dangerous place haha.

Having said that...good luck in finding one that suits you. I hope it lives up to everything that you want it to.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I am going to the Westheimer guitar center tomorrow. The one on 45 sucks and never has anything. In the back of my mind I was hoping that they would have one. Now, since it's confirmed I'md definately gonna make the hour drive. I've got a few good offers on used ones, just trying to hold out to find one with a metal grill. I am not getting rid of my jsx until I get to do a side by side comparison. I think the JSX is an underrated amp. I actually prefer it to the 6505/5150. I am also thinking the 2 would compliment each other very well due to the punchiness of the jsx and the thickness of the bogner. Run them in stereo with different eq settings kinda like Cantrell did.

Well I purchased a Rev 2 from a fellow rig-talk forumite. Hopefully it'll be here by the weekend. I did get the chance to play the twin-jet at gc on saturday. Wow that thing is clean. I can see this amp making me play better because it is very unforgiving if you make a mistake. All I could think the whole time I was playing is how great that thing would sound recorded. I got to turn it up a little, but not enough to really saturate the tubes. One thing I do have to say is I like the new tolex better in the pics than I do in person. It's the girliest mean amp out there lol. But it's nice to see something different.

You'll really love the Rev 2. Once dialed in correctly it is such a versatile, disgustingly mean yet organic amp. Be sure to throw some JJ E34Ls in there.

That being said, if you ever get the chance to play a Twin Jet, you'll see that it probably has the Rev 2 beat for metal and tight, fast, articulate riffs.

Did you like the E34L's better than the KT88's? And yea I played a TJ saturday and damn it was tight!!

I've only played my Rev 2 with Sovtek KT88s, and I'm not a big fan of those tubes. But the E34Ls seem to be made for the Rev 2. They feel more natural in the amp than the Sovteks did.
