Help Identify These Metal Songs

I agree. That's the worst I have heard a bogner sound.

Agreed...Bogners are already inherently dark, and he dials it even darker...bad combination, IMO. It's almost like the tone is on 0 on the guitar. That tone gives you little definition or clarity.

So if this youtube channel/poster tries to appear as authority how can they screw up so bad? Lol.
 
Damn! I knew it was LOG but couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the song. On the other, I remembered the riff but totally forgot about Kings X. Thanks for the assistance gentlemen... Brutal critique of the tone by the way - which is why I never post my own audio on this forum :scared:

bunch of savages in here. but yeah that tone is absolutely horrible. I almost feel bad for the guy but I have a few thoughts.

The camera and setup reminds me of the Monsters of High gain series which also had completely horrible tones coming from amazing amps. Also pro players in those vids and still sounding like crap.

The other thing, I love Bonger amps. Definitely some of the top amps for me. They can be tricky to dial in and the first time I had ever played one was a Twin Jet at a local music store.

I heard so much about Bogner but when I played the amp my exact thoughts were wow. This amp is kind of like a 5150 but 300x more expensive no thanks.

Then a Forum user brought his TJ and Rev 2 over. I quickly realized that with a proper Bias/Tubes, Cab and know how those amps can definitely shine.

The player in this vid probably had about 10 minutes to warm up and record a vid with an amp he was unfamiliar with is my guess but either way, yeah that sounds really bad.

I didn't mean to be so brutal, I respect somebodys personal work versus 'professionals' if it was somebody on here I would be constructive and friendly providing assistance if possible. I just wanted to make sure that somebody buying this amp should realize that this is not a true representation of the capabilities of a damn nice amp.

IDK, sounds like a totally raw miced amp tone. No post-EQ, compression, etc.

Honestly, double it, pan, and add some other basic processing and it probably sounds pretty awesome.
 
sounds like a poor mic placement to me...ya'know the amp can bring the heat...like it's too far away from the sweet spot or something
 
Earnest question here dudes: Isn't is better for the average amp demo to sound more like what the average person sounds like when the take the amp home as opposed to a polished, professional demo with post-processing? I don't know what you guys are hearing, but I've heard much, much worse tone than this. Maybe I'm hearing what sounds very much like an XTC 20th because I'm very familiar with the amp. I don't think it's a quality recording but it just seems like an average Youtube video to me.

Another thing I want to know is if other people also have trouble recognizing very familiar riffs when played by someone else. Sometimes guys play stuff with very distinctive styles, like Black Dahlia Murder or LOG, but sounds very different even if someone else plays it correctly.

I would ideally take a room mic over this situation.

In general I prefer to hear a minimally produced sound with a common mic.

But I think this was done very poorly.
 
Agree with the others that think it's just the mic placement (for the most part, maybe to a lesser extent it's the mic choice itself? Some mics work better or worse with some speakers/amp combo's).

I'm ashamed to say I have no idea on the song riffs, I was just assuming he was improvising some random cool grooves....he's a helluva a player though! Who does he play with?

No idea what happened to that dude. He used to do the Rack Systems demos but hasn't updated his Youtube or website for a couple of years I think, but I know nothing else about that guy.
