Help Identifying Tubes

[Beyond Black]

Can anybody identify these tubes? No writing anywhere on them. Just wondering if they’re anything cool. Pics one and two are one tube, three and four are the other.

I was recently looking at buying a Tesla pre and that looks like one of the tubes I saw..they do have gold pins like this tube. But can't say for sure. The tube also had that same raised disc, then getter above. But I also read that there are many faked Tesla 12ax7s out there.

So I'm probably not much help!

I can't tell if the plates are just grey or silver in the first two pics, but it looks like a Sovtek WA/B/C.

Last two look like JJ ECC83S's.

First one looks Russian...the mica spacers, some of the welds, but the plate structure looks a bit different to determine what it exactly is. The glass reads 7025.

The other two are JJ.

i would say its possible that the first ones arent even 12ax7

Chinese and JJ. Nothing special. If it was early frame grid Tesla it would have two support rods on the disc getter

I like Chinese, but they are prone to make Boogie amps hum, so you have to tinker. I’m a very big fan of the Ei 12AX7/ECC83. Also, American tubes sound good in it... RCA and Sylvania. I know I didn’t give you much to work with...Boogie amps are temperamental.

Thank you! I just replaced a JJ in the PI with a Telefunken, and it made quite a difference. A tad less gain, but tighter and much more focused. Got a Tung Sol for V1 and Shuguang Foil Getters for 2,3, and 4 on the way. I’m not very expert with rolling pres, so we’ll see what happens.
