Alright,

Well right now i have a mesa OS retco 4x12 cab as of right now. I am in the process of selling and want a different 4x12 cab. It cab doesnt have to do one thing extremely well, but i would like it to do about 4 things pretty well. As of right now i feel the boogie cab is great for hi gain stuff (which i know is what they were made for) and is also the reason why i am selling it. When i got this cab i was running a road king and loved the combo, but now i have gone the way of the Axe Fx 2 and feel the cab only compliments one of my 4 main patches which is my mesa patch.

I want a cab that will sound good with all four of my presets, fender clean, vox ac30, marsha hbe, and my mesa. Like i said it doesnt have to any one of those things crazy good (i feel the boogie cab is crazy good on my mesa channel). I have a custom cab maker near me and was going to order a 69' spec marshall 4x12 style cab. My problem is im not sure which speakers to put in it. Should i go scumback m75 and h75 mixed, maybe v30s and greenback mixed like in the friedman cabs? Perhaps a pair i havent though of?

All thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated!

I'd mix in a x-pattern. V30's and G12-65's are a good mix too. I'm running two 65's in a 2x12 FL cab with 4 similar channels and I love it. I"ll be getting a 4x12 to mix with V30's in the near future. Scumback makes a nice version of 65's as well.

Try the Atomic Reactor cabs that Fractal sells. If you're using cab sims its a no brainer. I went from a Splawn 4x12 to 2 112 passive reactor cabs running in stereo and they made my Axe Fx sound 100x better.

Well, if you want it all, then I would consider a more neutral speaker like an E VM 12L. So you aren't fighting something the speaker adds for a certain tone.

Jet City is making a full range 4x12 powered cabinet.

Those particular headphones aren't great for playing guitar, tbh. Too honky in the midrange. You want open backs.

Yeah... I know it was a joke.

Best sound you'll ever get outta that $2500 solid-state wind vane.

  I have 2 EVM 12L BL "300w" in the Cameron 1x12 cubes. Sounds great and I switch from 6L6's to EL34's with the RT 2/50

Here you go. Best fake speakers you can get for the "best" fake amp.

Now you're onto something! :)
