So i want to replace my brigde BKP Miracleman.

-Guitar RR1: alder body, maple neckthrough, ebony fingerboard; neck PU alnicoV Cold Sweat,

On that guitar i play tech Deathmetal, polyrhythmic rhytms , D tuning.

I like in the MM:
-tight bass but a bit to much,
-massive low mids,
-good sound better than EMG,power and clarity.

I don't like,don't fit my style/rig:
-to much smooth mids-himids section,
-a bit too compressed,
-harsh,piercing higs (with the Herbert now is far better this than with the VH4)

Eq for what i hear: bass 7 lowmids 6,5 himids 5 high 7,5

Tim suggested my the Painkiller..of course more mids/himids

I'm searching for a more cutting tone, more aggressive than MM,tight bass, huge but definded on palm mute, more mids and less piercing highs, same brightness than MM,less compression.

My first idea was a C-bomb..but Tim said twice PK..PK.

Warpig Al anc C i think too much output and DC for a high gain amp and not suitable with my cold sweat neck.

Thanks. :)

Painkiller most def! It has a very cutting tone. I used to think EMG's sounded good... These destroy em.

id listen to Tim, the dude knows whats up usually.
have you also checked out the BKP forum? a fair bit of knowledge for BKPs on there (obviously)

I would say Painkiller, too. I'm getting C-Pig/Painkiller in my next guitar. :)

Email Tim at BKP. He's the pro and is always happy to help.

I like the sound of PKs and Nailbombs. What is your guitar more prominent in, tone wise? If it's got lots of resonant low end, you will not get along with the Painkiller. The low end would just not stay tight in my KV2.

My guitar is about: Bass 8, Mids 6, Highs 9
The full shred brings me to about: 7, 8, 9

Just something else to keep in mind.

Seems to me that a C-pig is exactly what you're looking for.

It's not that loud, DC-resistance doesn't mean anything in this aspect. Don't look at that... I think the Wapig bridge will balance well with any of the contemporary pickups.

A pickup can't be compressed. It doesn't add compression, it drives the amp to more gain and therefore compress. It's the amp not the pickup. You can only mean that it has higher output.

As I said I think it balances with all the contemporary pickups. I haven't tried the MiracleMan tho but as for the voicing, the Warpig is exactly how he wants it judging from his description.

I don't see why he should get a PK if he wants less tight lows and less high mids, I mean the PK is known for having exactly that. Warpig or maybe Nailbomb is the way to go. Or maybe try a Alnico Warpig. Your guitar should already have all the clarity, maple neck thru and alder body.

I have a War Pig in my Jackson Dinky and it sounds great. I think the body is alder on mine but I know the neck is maple and the fret board is ebony. I took EMG's out of the guitar and could not find a good passive fit for it until I tried the War Pig.

The Painkiller is the only BK pickup I've really liked. I got to play an A5 Warpig this weekend, it was nice, but I though my Painkiller killed it. I think I might like a ceramic warpig though. I've found my tastes leaning toward ceramic pickups anyway.

Yeah, I must not have read the description well enough. You want something less tight in the bass dept then I'm not entirely sure. PK's are all I have tried but I freaking love em and they actually clean up pretty well. Though I do think, if I was looking for less tight with my setup I good get that from the amps if needed.

+1

Tim is usually on the money. Email him your first post with your amp and tonal desires. I use Rebel Yells and Crawlers in my Les Pauls.

My other guitar player has a Warpig in his basswood 7421 and it sounds massive and tight. I would def go with that one in alder or basswood. For mahagony I'd go with the Painkiller.

With the maple neck and ebony board I'm guessing it's a fairly bright guitar, in which case you will love the Nailbomb.
IMO this is the best sounding Bare Knuckle there is.

IDK about Tim's advice. I mean sure he's the main guy, but everyone always comes back and says he recommended them the Painkiller. I never hear him recommend anything else really. Seems strange to me.
