Those Yamaha THR's are awesome, brought one home and it went back the next day.
It had issues out of the box, it seems to be a common problem.

I'm a big fan of the yamaha as well, love the THR10x for headphone practicing and playing along with my iPad. Sorry you are having issues.

Another one to check out would be the Vox Valvetronix+ series. I have the VT30+ which looks to be discontinued but the 20, 40, and 80 are still out there. Has plenty of high gain tones, power scaling and headphone out. I use it for smaller ensemble jams and the 30 watter can keep up with a drummer if you wanted to use it for rehearsals in a pinch. For the sub $200 range it's hard to beat.

I played a Blackstar HT40 that was surprisingly good for a small cheap combo.

The ability to dial across from Mesa type tone to Marshall type tone worked fairly well.

It did get the modern metal and the reverb was not bad.

You can spend a lot more and not get much more.

EHX 44 Magnum + Preamp Pedal (there's a variety that are great, or in my case a Pod Bean) + 1X12 cabinet = Win!

Mesa Boogie DC-5. Not really a practice amp but a 50watt 6L6 dual channel with EQ.

I like my Peavey Rage just fine for TV volume practicing. I feel no need to upgrade for anything else for that volume of practicing. Doesn't sound nearly as nice when you turn it up much louder then that though.

I like the idea of the Yamaha stuff.

If you're looking for a more traditional combo-if contact Jerry (surreal amps).

I liked the Yamaha but got sick of it pretty quickly. I use a Jet City 22 with a Zoom Multistomp for fx.

It needs to be small so I can move it around.
The vh4 is up on the 3rd floor, the idea of the practice amp is to practice in the living room on the first floor on the couch.
I learned some new Tool on the orange crush 35.
I may just keep it, sounds decent enough I guess lol.

A Peavey XXX 1x12. One on ebay for $399. It's a 40 watt.
I had a 60 watt XXX 1x12. Those are kinda rare, but they are pretty much half of a JSX/XXX 2x12.
Lots of high gain goodness, no need for a pedal, except maybe a boost to tighten it up.

For around that $400 range, a used Bugera V22 and a used Wampler Tripler Wreck and you can Tool around all day and night.

See what I did there? :)

I've never heard of Eleven Rack until now.
Man that sounds really good!
Nice playing too, great chops.

I'm amazed at the price for that tone.
Do you run it into a clean guitar amp or a power amp and speakers?
I'm sure either way works, but what did you run for that demo?

I gotta look into one of those. Axe FX and Kemper are high dollar, but the 11 rack is nicely priced.
Man, this forum is bad for the bank account.
So many cool toys. :D

I use a YAMAHA THR10X at home as well as OVERLOUD TH2 software. there is a free demo download.

The TH2 has randall lynchbox amps in it that sound awesome for modeling software.
the best tone i ever got is using it with a set of ATH m50 phones!

Mesa Studio.22+

Hands down THE BEST practice amp I've ever had. I wish I had never sold it...but the offer was just too good to refuse.

Thats not my youtube vid - but I do have an Eleven Rack

you can do either clean amp channel or Power amp + 4 x 12

it allows you to turnoff the cab sims to send it to a clean amp channel if wanted

sounds great either way
