I'm looking for a delay pedal that I can keep in my rack so it needs to have presets that can be recalled via midi. I'm looking for a pedal version probably because I hate dealing with rack units(too confusing). I'm running a 2-head setup so a stereo option would be cool.
Basically looking for something like a timefactor without spending $400 on a delay pedal.

Hardwire DL8, great sounding pedal!! inexpensive, stereo, built like a tank, has a cool little cap for the knobs so your settings wont get bumped, check it out!

No midi though, right?

the damagecontrol timeline ? but seeing as it's discontinued, good luck finding that for a decent price

the t-rex replica has midi in, but i think it's very limited

your cheapest option i'm afraid will be some kind of rack unit (or some older used rack gear ), certain pedals have presets but few have midi implementation, they leave that to the rack units, the timefactor i think is the only pedal currently made that does all the things you're looking for in a pedal format

the tc g-sharp rack unit could maybe be an option?

very straight forward- no nonsense rack delay/verb/mod unit with knobs to set everything like a pedal
but there are probably better sounding rack units in that price range

thanks for suggestions guys, I may end up checking out some rack gear I just think they are always tone suckers. I had a Gmajor for about a week and flipped it quick.
I've been watching clips of the strymon timeline all morning. I can't justify spending that much but that thing is fucking nuts!!! It would be an awesome, inspirational tool

So get the TimeFactor then. Buy a used one, do a firmware dump, re-load - boom - just like new

mojo

I like the Mad Professor "Deep Blue Delay"

Very Analogue with the Control of Digital.

RR

Look for an old Korg rack delay. It's basically like a pedal a la knobs and such, but with MIDI, and way cool "vintage" vibe.

Id say find a Rocktron Intellifex or even use their expression. Easy to program and sounds incredible and you can find both under 200 all day long...

Yeah I've got to look into some of these suggestions. I had a rocktron chameleon back in the day that was pretty, cool so I may look into the expression.

Seriously dude, dont get caught up in the BS hype, youre using it live and in that situation, Ill put Rocktron up against anything. Studio is a different thing all together and even there, Rocktron doesnt suck. It aint Eventide or high end Lexicon but its damn good and even better for the money..

You can get them for around $100 if you get lucky. They sound great in the FX loop for delay, verb, and some EQ. And after owning a few of them I didn't feel like they affected tone at all.
