So I just pieced together my first guitar that mother bought me when I was 15.
It's a strat copy made by vantage.

Not the bed guitar in the world but very special since its my first guitar.
Anyway since its light and most likely not the best wood (not to sure what it is) I am looking to buy a humbucker pickup for the bridge position than wont leave the guitar sound bright and harsh.
I'd like something warm and brown sounding but lots of output to keep up with a JB SH4.
I play drop D into a diezel vh4
I hope this is enough into for help.

Might as well buy whatever Adam Jones uses and be done with it.

Duncan Custom Custom
If you wanted some thicker mids then Rio Grande BBQ.
BG pickups BG Bucker Dark. This was actually recommended to me for an alder Carvin for almost exact what you describe and it was killer.

Your logic in the reference of some ancient video game eludes me. Edit: I guess its about as relevant as some of your other posts.

I have a BBQ bucker in my partsocaster and it probably is the best sounding guitar I have

Thanks for the help with pickup choice.

Thats cool! Now I have a bunch of choices and not sure what I should go with.

Good thing most pickups aren't crazy pricey.

I've got a Tom Anderson HN3. If you want a JB for lower tunings, it has increased bottom end and low mids while retaining a JB's cool mid spike characteristics. I'd sell it to you if you're interested.

  Yes, these pickup threads are VERY confusing. Unfortunately the only way to really decide is to buy and try.

Good luck!

take a look at josh wibaut's youtube channel where he presents all kinds of diezels with a strat a tele and a gibson LP.

I am a huge fan of the sounds he gets with his tele which is swamp ash/ maple neck/ maple fretboard with a dimarzio tone zone. he's playing mostly in standard tuning and occasionally goes lower to drop D.. it does not sound flubby, or harsh, really a well balanced sound
