I am thinking about building a Warmoth single humbucker. I am thinking maple neck and board. Original Floyd. Probably a double cream Dimarzio of some kind. Distortion?
The real question is what kind of wood should I use for the body?

I am trying to go for a Charvel vibe but with a meatier neck. I have always like the neck shape of the Music Man Axis so I was leaning towards the Wolfgang neck shape.

Hit me up with your ideas. Even colors for the body. I need some input.

What do you think of this mock up?

I like the 80's look of the cream body but at the same time its not flashy. I'm not looking for snakeskin style flash.

I like it.. are you set on a maple fretboard? Digging the cream look.. i am assuming you will want it to punch through so I'd go alder. Yes there is dark and super bright alder.. luck of the draw when it comes to wood. Overall however, you can be more confident that alder will punch and snap more than mahogany. JB is always a go to or the timmons pickup might also work..

Not stuck on Maple. I like the look and feel of maple with the gunstock finish or tungoil.

Here is a rosewood in a color that reminds me of the yellow orange Vai eyeball guitar. Cool too eh?

Alder will cut through and maple neck with maple board or ebony. Either will look killer on the vintage white.

Or do a get a little crazy and go green?

I like the way you think  !

I'd ditch the neck hum and put a white pickguard in there as well, in the green version that is.
