 Killer album

But I have to say I have been really digging ember to inferno lately. Favourite song the last few weeks...

They are playing Calgary Monday Sept 16!!

I like them..always wondered how this guy can keep his voice after touring those melodic + gutter vocals!!? Liked the drummer on the first album too..

I read an interview that said he almost lost his voice a lot when the band first started touring, and he found that he can't do all the vocal parts so now all the cookie monster parts are done by the lead guitarist, some of the very clean harmonies by the bassist, and the other 90% are done by Matt. It also lets them do some layered vocals live. When I saw them on their last tour they were using AxeFx for both guitars, and it sounded great!!

Thanks for all the clicks!!!

Here they are preparing for the last tour

Good luck dude!! My wife went to HS and was good friends with Heafy. Now he doesn't give her the time of day whenever we see him around lol. When I lived downtown, I ran into him a lot around Lake Eola.

So far with 1 day and 7 hours left I am in first place so...

smart man, because i watched some older live clips and that had to hurt him physically to sing between both voices like that. I think the new approach is the smartest and his lead guitar player does the cookie cutter stuff just as good as him. You can tell he has lost the real clean vocals but hey, good move on bringing in the bassist to round out the top end. Are they all original members minus the drummer?

When I saw them last year the vocals were better than they are in the Chapman studios videos. I heard that these were done shortly after they finished recording In Waves, and an interview that I read that for recording they start with the clean vocals for all tracks then to pushed, and then to all out cookie monster because once you have done the cookie monster you have to let you voice rest for a while before you can do clean, or pushed vocals properly. I am not sure if the vocals in the video are off a bit from doing too the album.

BTW I have a nice lead so far, but it is very early in the contest!!!

I like their music.
Great drummer and it does matter so much for a solid band to have a drummer like that.

I wish that these modern metal bands would try writing tunes without drop D tuning all the time. It sounds powerful at times, but then it all starts to sound too familiar as they all rely too much on that tuning.
But, maybe it's just me. Drop D sounds heavier for sure, but dropped standard gives cool textures too.

Thanks again for all the clicks, I am still in first, but there is now some competition. With 10 1/2 hours left I have 35, second place has 19, and yesterday afternoon they didn't have any.

I think I am getting a bit stoked...dude, dude try these nachos lol

Second place is up to 29 now, and I am at 40, it is getting close with about 6.5 hours left!!!
