Usually when I swap PU's I just desolder each wire from the old pu and solder the corresponding wires of the new pu to the same locations as the old.

This time the V8 bridge pu that comes in the RGA121 (2 humbuckers, 1 volume, 1 tone, 5 way switch) has only 3 wires (red, white, and ground). I am replacing the V8 with a Tone Zone that has 5 wires (red, white, black, green, and ground). I don't want to change how the pu selector switch functions so should I just solder the red, white, and ground to the corresponding V8 locations and not do anything with the black and green wires? Will the Tone Zone function at its peak like this?

Thanks in advance.

You put two wires together, I think green and ground and red and white, then solder them like they were 3. There should be a wiring diagram that cover it with the pickup but you can find it on the website as well.

I hate import switches with a passion. That said, I think this'll help:

That is the diagram that I used last week on mine as well. Was just going to post the same diag.

Hope it sounds great! Enjoy!

Yeah, much improvement over the stock V8. I don't know what it is but I just seem to have an affinity for the tone zone. I've liked it in just about everything I have heard it go into.
This RGA121 is a really solid, well built guitar. I brought it out over the past few days. I never really played it for any great length of time. I decided I was going to play it with the band tomorrow so I gave it an overhaul tonight. The thing sounds killer.
