Been using a Herbert for the last 2 years. It's an absolute beast! Best High gain channel switcher I've tried, by far.
I've got to try one soon, whether I actually buy it this go around or not.

You could also look at incorporating a synergy piece or 2 into your rig for unlimited versatility

For that stuff, you could probably get away using a Synergy setup with HBE/ BE and VH4 modules. Salvation audio also does a great Mesa MarkIV module.

What is this Synergy stuff?? I'm so behind the times!!

So, real preamps? If I grabbed say a BE (I no likey the HBE), a SLO, and a Savage, it would leave me smiling and satisfied?

Searching old threads now...

Ok, I just read like 20 threads on the Synergy stuff...think I'm getting a bit up to speed!

Interesting stuff for sure...man, so many options these days...

The Engl SE has been discontinued. There are still a few dealers with a few units left in stock however. I used to own a FB100 and it was a cool amp. You might also want to check out the new Savage 120 MK2. Should be released in a few months.

If Herberts been on your mind for that long, just go for it man :)
I feel that if your mind's set on something, it's best to get that and not look back.

But, there are some great amps mentioned already.
I've had three Diezels, VH4, Herbert and then Hagen.
I miss the VH4 and Herbert, but since the PRS Archon I finally found that epic tone that really ticks all the boxes.

Hey man, abbath78 is selling a mint Fireball 100 if you want to get something from a forum member. Just saw it on the classifieds
