Hi, guys, I'm running a Digitech GSP 1101 (C63 update) with a new FCB 1010 midi pedal. The switches change patches fine, but the volume pedal doesn't work. I had an older fcb and the colume pedal worked fine with my GSP.

Is it because either it's a new pedal or I've updated the firmware? I'm useless with midi so any help would be amazing.

Thanks, guys.

Mike

The volume pedals are not assigned to the same midi CC number that the digitech is assigned to. If the digitech has a learn CC feature, turn that on and rock the volume pedals back and forth and it should grab it (TC stuff has this). If not, you will need to go into the midi setup on the 1010 and see what number the volume pedals are assigned to. Off the top of my head, I believe one of them is 7. You can join this group here for step by step programming instructions that actually make sense (the 1010 manual is a piece of garbage):

As I was once a midi newb, in English, the Digitech continuous controller parameters (CC) are still assigned to the default. So if you go into the midi setup (on the Digitech) and scroll to output volume (or what ever it's called in the Digitech), it will have a CC number (say 37 for example) assigned to it. You will need to change that number to match the 1010, which is set to 7 on the left volume pedal (for example). The next parameter you will have to set on the Digitech (probably the next screen after the CC # assignment) will be the range, from off=no volume=0 to max=full volume=100 (which might go to 128, as this is actually the highest number in midi language). Once you have assigned the CC# and the min and max range on the Digitech, you should be all set. After that, you can do the same thing with the other volume controller (which has it's own CC number) for delay lengths and delay mix levels (by assigning the same CC# to both of those parameters on the Digitech). That will allow you to have the right volume pedal control both of those things at once. For instance, you can have the pedal with the heal down=short delay that is barely in the mix, to toe down=longer delay that is louder in the mix. (Essentially your own solo mix)
